Unlikely.

But say they did, they’d be a lot worse as a team. He’s the best fit on the team with Gobert. And will likely be the most positive impact offensive player on the team because of it. Not best, but most impactful.

Perimeter defense is gonna have to come from Ant and Jaden McDaniels. Ant taking the leap will require him to use his strength on defense. And Jaden has to grow into being a disruptive defender across positions.

But for reference the team has the 4th best DRtg when Gobert is on the court, 21st when he’s not. 15th overall.

Defense will be well above average if they can figure out communication. So far they fell in the same trap that Utah did. Because Gobert is an all-time defender, they get lazy thinking he will clean up everything. He can’t and he won’t be able to. Getting comfortable with communication, familiarity etc will change a lot.
