The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA announces new media deal / WBD sues the league

Shouldn’t LA get the all star game once Clippers new area is complete, why waste it at that older arena

Been to 3 asw, Toronto, Chicago, Cleveland, all super fun even in the cold

NBA needs a rule that NYC, Chicago LA, Miami always get it once a decade and the remaining 6 years is rotated between whatever cities

No reason Chicago shouldnt get it often, 88 and 2020 was a wild long run of no asg in 1 of the best and arguably most top tier ball player produced cities

They seriously should just drop the dunk contest. They struggle just to get competitors now.

You know there is a problem when you have rookies on teams outside of the play-in ducking the dunk contest. There needs to be an intervention but Silver doesn’t have the heart for that.

There are still a few dunks that haven’t been tried and are all over YouTube.

The WOW factor and the fact that there’s rarely an all star/superstar in these contests makes It much less enjoyable.

Young teams building some terrible reputations right now between the Rockets, Hornets and Grizz

I don’t even think the Hornets have a reputation tbh. They just exist  The future of that franchise probably rests on this year’s lottery results.

Rockets, Hornets and Spurs basically G league teams right now…tough to make calls on most of the players, I understand the fan frustration but they gotta relax and let it play out at least a another season

Let's keep it thou wow: The casual fan just wants to see big names in the dunk contest. The catch 22 for the big names is that there are only really a few of them capable of pulling off contest worthy dunks. So the risk factor is much higher than the reward.

The only non-stars that can build excitement are the young guys who come into the league with reps for being super high flyers (i.e - Lavine, Gordon) and those guys don't come around often. There's a difference between having contest-worthy dunks and just jumping really high. ALOT of dudes fall into the latter category.

Double eastbay for one.

Get Jordan Kilganon up in there, he would take the competition.

Why did Sharpe back out?

The dunk contest is also fun when there’s some rivalry.

Jordan-Dominique
Desmond Mason-Jrich
Lavine-Gordon

Might as well. If they’re going to have G-League call up guys in the NBA dunk contest, go ahead and open it up to the professional Internet dunker dudes.
