The Official NBA Season Thread: NBA Cup Night

Yea he's usually on point with his analysis a lot of the time but he's got a blindspot in this particular discussion.

Basketball media is not exempt from some of the same biases that exists within society...

JJ is dead *** wrong too. These writers have changed the criteria in not even 2 years time...

I can't say it's definitively racial bias, but can't definitively say it isn't.

It's just bizarre that they switched things up so quickly.

Sad the mvp debate is trending toward a black vs white thing

Cant wait for the ****ary when the ASG turns into World vs. USA too.

Niang is a solid player but he overhelps too much on defense and adds nothing when the shot isn’t falling

Tobias is overpaid yes but he’s also an elite defender that we don’t have
He’s a limited player, which is why he makes $3.5M, you sign him at that salary knowing what you’re getting.

A perimeter guy making $40M but the best thing you can say about him is his defense is far more detrimental to your title aspirations.

In a few weeks if Maxey & Harden don’t combine for 45+ do you genuinely trust Tobias to pick up the slack?

Yea his point about there not actually being any set criteria that JJ's trying to defend was true.

He brought up Kobe getting overlooked for MVP some years because of seeding reasons only for that reasoning to fly out the window in recent years.

Same with that quote you posted penalizing some players for postseason performance, for a regular season award no less , only for that same thinking to be rendered irrelevant in other cases...

It wouldn't be as big of a deal if these media heads and voters simply owned it and admitted that there isn't ever any set criteria and that their thinking and voting rules are subject to change yearly for personal reasons rather than pretending that isn't the case.

People keep tryna loop Giannis and Joel into the same international player category as Jokic and it's being done in bad faith when we know that is not how America operates or functions.

Yea. While Tobias isn’t needed to score 20 a game, we know that’s something he can do.

The bigger issue is Jo, Jim and Maxey being willing to pass the ball sometimes

Were the Wizards players the last ones to get a suspension bc of a gun related incident?

I wonder if you can bring a gun to a home game (depending on state laws) and keep it in the locker.

Dudes were saying it was the media making Ja look like this and then dude pressed record himself.

Crazy
Going down as one of the wildest unforced errors I can remember.

My dude can't keep playing those ******* away games word to Avon

Don't think you can bring it into any team facilities

One of Ja's boy got to step in and take the fall. Say ja did not know until the night they were out
Didn't know what? He's playing with the gun in the club. Seemed pretty cool they have it. The homies are allowed on team planes? Ja is cooked bro
