They also played against a team with no Donovan + Allen, no Jimmy Butler, no Haliburton

Every team they faced was missing their best player for all or most of the series

Dont think that's ever happened before.

Boston has 5 elite defenders even without Porzingis that can all defend on the perimeter and two all NBA defensive players

I do give the front office props for their continuity though. Keeping those two together for 7 years is unheard of with the player movement these days.

The 2024 Celtics may not be one of the best teams ever but they certainly had one of the best seasons ever.

I think that's where some of the narratives stem from.
