The Official NBA Season Thread: RIP Kobe 🐍

How in the same breath say he is bigger & stronger than MJ but then question if he could handle physicality of the his era

I guess the argument would be that being big and strong and being able to play through physical contact without it adversely impacting your game are two different things.

Like, Joel Embiid is big and strong but arguably kind of soft about absorbing contact.

That said, LeBron would be perfectly fine in the 90s.

i totally understand Bomani's perspective...

people were trying to get off "actually nepotism is good when black people do it"

that was dumb,

i just don't think it was that nepotistic.

Holding your $50M signing ransom until the team takes your kid could not be anymore nepotistic. If you’re cool with it fine, but acting like that didn’t happen is absolutely insane.

i said it wasnt THAT nepotistic. in that its not like Bronny was unqualified.

its def some nepotism, like i said the contract he got was def only because hes brons son.

Was Bronny’s McDonald’s All-American selection without controversy? I feel like I heard chatter at the time he made it based more on name than achievements. But maybe I’m misremembering.

I’m genuinely asking.

Might as well call him up now

he needs as many reps as he can get. When he plays during garbage time he hoops with no confidence. It also doesn’t help that the entire arena treats him like a meme and yells at him to shoot lol.

he’ll get a chance at bottom of the rotation minutes next year.

I’m half trolling but he does need the reps. He’s where he belongs. While it’s good to see him playing with confidence, these still aren’t indications he’s an NBA player

Hope everything works out for him though

He needs two solid years in the g league.

Fasho it’ll be a challenge. I wish him success but the path towards becoming a rotation player in the nba is a long way away.

Regardless folks were acting hating like crazy and the lebron haters would he taking hella victory laps if he wasn’t performing well in the G league. Gotta give him some credit.

Exactly what WOULD be that nepotistic then?
If he wasn't qualified for the job at all.

Getting a job that your qualified because you have a relationship is not ideal but realistically this happens all the time and is hard to police.

To me nepotism is more egregious when it's someone getting something they are not qualified for.
