Starting to get into checking Nikon and Canon Rumors website. Saw this on Canon Rumors. Possible 60D sighting with the swivel screen. Even Canon does a better job at creating a swivel screen that swivels to the left, unlike Nikon that swivels only down.
Crazy that a 60D is even coming out since there is a T2i and the 7D. The gap seems so narrow from those two cameras but still, Canon decides to squeeze in another crop frame camera. To only make it seem fair, I am assuming the 60D will not have the same burst shot and ISO power compared to the 7D but will be at least better in picture quality when compared to the T2i. Also the new feature that seems to be the new rage is the automatic focus in video mode that will be coming out on the new Nikon and Canon DSLRs in September.
If Nikon's replacement to the D90 is overshadowed by the 60D, I will undoubtedly jump ship back to Canon. Nikon can't seem to get anything right.

Haha....it's getting to that point but I will decide after that Photokina trade show in Septemeber. My friend had a 7D and he upgraded already only after like a couple of months to the Mark 2. I messed with that camera for the first time over the weekend and I think I am hooked. 7D seemed like the most likely upgrade for me but now, I want to go and get a damn full frame now. I know if I do, I would only be able to afford the body and maybe the 50mm 1.8 lens. I have some money issues and never seem to save money right.

I know the swivel screen will probably trickle down to the rebels, but would it evaporate(?) up to the xD series?

^^^It's hard to say. I think the swivel seems more for a video use since you don't have to worry about manually focusing the lens no more but I know you could use for some odd angle shots whether from low or high positions. At first I thought it was kind of dumb to have it but there really is no difference in having that as apposed to not having it. If you use it....then use it.....if not, keep it slotted in. I hope they have it where you can even swing it back in where the screen is facing the body, preventing scratching and other problems like that.

** Attention all DC photogs!!.. So far we got 5 people who have showned interest (23kidd, Termanology27, That Kid Daniel, mjbetch and myself).. gonna try and set up for next weekend (august 21/22) to give everyone enough time to make arrangements.. Should make for a great outting fellas!

These arent in any sort of good order but oh well. These are pictures from the Newport Folk Fest in Newport, RI, and mostly of my favorite band, The Avett Brothers. They played a set on the main stage, I walked around for a while and then, from afar, i saw their telltale banjo, guitar, standup bass and cello. They played an unplugged set on top of the scissor lift! Amazing day.
