Ksteezy, Thanks for the tips...

I definitely had a hard time shooting their wedding. You were right about your bicycle analogy. I was being pulled in many directions and felt like i needed a team photographers with me.

I will post more photos from the trip but have to refrain from showing anymore from the wedding.

Great learning experience!

The thing that works best for me is to click the save for web or mobile devices button on PS when I post on FB. You can also click the high quailty button while uploading on FB. Be catious though high quaility doesn't equal high resolution. :smh:

Couple of things I need help on,

Whats the easiest way to understand ISO, Fstop and Shutter speed?
I just got the Canon 60D, what are some good rookie lens I should get? Wants something with great zoom like 300mm.
What is IS USM?
Thanks guys. This picture taking is fun.
To answer your questions;

ISO, Aperture/F-Stop, & Shutter Speed have a pro & con.
- ISO is the sensitivity to the sensor. The lower the number, the less noise/grain you get and the more you increase it, the more noise/grain you get in a photograph.
- Aperture/F-Stop is the amount of light coming through the lens that is being shown to the camera body. Think opposite, the lower the number i.e.(F/1.4), the more light you gain, the higher the number i.e (F/5.6) the less light you get. Different mm on lens have different numbers which represent Aperture/F-Stop which is why more lenes cost more than others.
- Shutter Speed is how fast a picture gets taken. Usually anything that's 1/60th or higher (1/80th,1/100th,1/125 & so on) becomes a darker image but becomes a sharper image, but the slower/lower your shutter speed i.e. (1/40th, 1/20th, 1/15th) becomes more blurry and less sharp/crisp. Again think opposite. Like I said, there is a pro & con to each one, but each of three are mainly what consist of a photograph besides the body and all of that.

-The 60D is a great camera and if you got it with the kit lens, for me I would invest into a 50mm. You have one focal length which helps you get better because it make you think, well for me that is. If you want a 300mm, canon makes zoom lens reaching that certain focal length. Out of curiosity, why 300mm? just wondering thats all.

- As for what IS &USM stands for, IS(Image stabilizer) & USM(ultra sonic motor) The IS helps when you take a photo to become less shakey in a sense a less blurry picture. USM makes the lens quiet and supposedly fast which is built into lens. Hope this helps.

We are all mad here

wassup nt, i do night club photography. i have a rebel t3i and i use a tamron 17-50mm lens. its a great lens but i am trying to take it to the next level. i also shoot music videos, but i feel that lens isnt sharp enough. any ideas of a better lens? if i have to get two different lenses thats fine, just wanted some ideas of lens to look into.

Looking for a new tripod, preferable under $80. I use my T2i with a grip, usually so.

Any suggestions?

Would love some help.
- I got a canon sx40 powershot... what setting do I put it so I can get clear quality images of moving objects as if someone was jumping or running
- what is the best setting to put so your pics come out so crisp and amazing quality?
Thanks will rep!
Shoot at a faster shutter speed.

A great versatile lens for a crop body would be a 17-55mm F/2.8. Might be pricey but when I had a crop body, it was the only lens I used and did the job very well. If you plan to upgrade to a full frame body, invest into a 24-70mm F/2.8 I'm pretty sure im not the only one has used/rent this lens, but they say its the best versatile lens.

Are you in a rush to get a new tripod or can wait a bit. Investing in a good decent tripod will benefit you in the future. I thought the same and went the cheap way, but every time it would either break or just couldn't handle it. A while back I invested into a pretty decent tripod and its easier to take pictures with out worrying at all.

Hm, I wouldn't mind waiting, but at the same time I'm not looking to spend ~$100+.
