Yeah, not being able to get rid of the cars in the background is understandable. Still a great shot nonetheless.

while this is better than the previous one, it really isnt much. My eyes are led to the lower right corner but why? 80% of the picture is just filler that doesnt help the composition. Cropping can be your friend. of course the best option would be composing it better from the beginning.
Here's a different one. I shot in maunal with this one. I didn't use a flash so I had to brighten it up....Please provide feedback

I see exactly what you mean. This is my first jump into any of those so I'm learning on the fly...There's literally no focus point of the picture.
My thing is stationary items (vehicles mainly...trains and buses for my job and hobby). I'll post one up unedited tomorrow.

Bought myself a d3100 to learn to take some nice manual photos and editing raw files. Starting to get a hang of adjusting the 3 settings either underexposing, balancing, or overexposure. This can be a fun hobby to acquire over the summer. Better than the first day when I boxed the camera, all I was getting was pitch black photos thinking my camera was broken.

I thought the same thing!
but once I picked up Lightroom, things become much, much easier. I took an overexposed picture with a heavy green object and was able to balance and smooth it out....I'm still learning and such but it's definitely fun and addicting

Took awhile for the clouds to clear up and i didn't catch any meteors 
First time shooting the night sky. I was fooled into thinking the shots i was taking had the proper exposure but the majority of the shots i took were underexposed because my LCD screen was super bright in the dark. I tried to cut out the noise as much as possible.
Any feedback is appreciated.
