Thanks for taking the time to write that up. I hear you on it being a tool first, and definitely keep that in mind. I've seen substandard shot from a canon 5d and beautiful shots from point and shoots so I understand it's not always the tool.

I probably feel Better about picking up any of the 3 now but will probably go with the 7100. I think the dram biter might not be that big an issue as you stated previously. Will definitely check out Fuji and Olympus glass offerings too.

I also don't mind spending the cash if the item will hold its value which I feel the more established brands in photography are more likely to do that. That makes incremental upgrades a lot easier as time passes

you really can't go wrong, especially with the current cameras now but if value is what you are after definitely seems to be accepted wisdom that it is better to spend on glass than a body. and if image quality & bang for your $$$ is really important to you, i think it is really hard to beat mirrorless + good glass! (which doesn't necessarily mean crazy expensive lenses) with the caveat being, how much fast action shooting you will do or be in situations where quick, accurate focusing is really important; like sports, weddings, or wildlife (not to say mirrorless can't do these thing but probably not the BEST option for them) mirrorless gives a lot of flexibility in the way of available lenses(pretty much every lens from any system past, present, & future), form factor, and shooting style vs. dslrs; it is past the concept stage and should only get better, hopefully...
 
I decided what works best for me is the 70d with a sigma 18-35 lens to start.

It will give me the flexibility I want for video and allow me to grow with that, the only real trade offs are in body focusing, and lowlight performance as well as Moire are better on the nikon.

I think the nikon is weather sealed too but since my lenses won't be in not worried about it

There a trade off either way but that will work well for me based on comments and some real world videos/pictures and reviews I've watched. The d7100 iq doesn't outweigh the extra tha canon brings imo.

Generally how much are 35mm lens for Nikon I've been seeing a couple prices 170-390.

And are there any sites to avoid when buying camera gear

390?! If you're talking about the 35mm f/1.8G, I don't think it should go anywhere above $200. I think I bought mine new from B&H for $196. I suppose you could look around for it used, but I paid a little extra for my piece of mind.

What up guys, haven't been in here in a minute. I'm taking a trip in a few months but only have a 50mm lens. Interested in a kit lens but I don't really want to buy one now.

this came really really good bro! i love the sun, tropics, sunset, sunrise type of photos. maybe thats the Filipino in me. lol but yall making me buy a cam and start snapping pics.
any tips on very new beginner ? at this point im really interested in shooting, not quite in love yet or very passionate about it. >D

I've also been trying to sell a few of my kicks to buy camera gear. I've got around 5-600 in pending sales this week, and I'm flying out to ATL for my brother's graduation, I'm hoping to have the 70-200 f4L by then. In my area they're going for around 850-1000 used & I'm even considering going for the f2.8L IS mk i. Those are about 1300-1500, and I think for indoor photography I might appreciate the extra stop of light, and a more shallow DOF for general portraiture.

Dope shots, homie!

I like A better, but you've lost some of the blacks in the water especially in the bottom left. Bring up the black or shadows and see how it looks from there.

Exposure wise, B is good. It just has some kind of yellow/green tint to it. it may just be my monitor at work since they're not calibrated.

I could have the same issue with my monitor at work combined with only having iPhoto combined with being such a noob and combined with having horrific post-processing skills.

I appreciate the feedback.
