Batman: Arkham Origins Coming This Year!

Rumors began circulating last year that the next entry in the "Arkham" games would be an origin story and Game Informer has revealed that those rumors were in fact true. Titled Batman: Arkham Origins, the game will take place before the previous two games in the series and will detail Batman's first time meeting with several characters. One of the developers on the game described its plot as follows:

"Eight of the best assassins in the world have come to Gotham City for one night, Christmas Eve of all nights, to kill the Bat."

Though not confirmed, it would appear the game will take place in and around Gotham City in an open-world environment like the previous game, "Arkham City."

Fans will notice that the biggest difference between this and the previous "Arkham" games is that Rocksteady is not developing the title. Instead, Warner Bros. Games Montreal has been given the reigns of the franchise. Batman: Arkham Origins will be available for the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 25, 2013.

They've also announced that the first handheld entry in the franchise will be available on the same day. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will launch for the 3DS and PS Vita and is a different experience that picks up after the events of Batman: Arkham Origins.

Check out Game Informer's cover of the game for the first look at one of the franchise's newest villains, Deathstroke, as well as the game's official logo below!

Ni No Kuni Developer Creating PlayStation 4 Game
A sequel? Please be a sequel.
by Colin Moriarty APRIL 9, 2013

Level-5, the Japanese developer behind the Dark Cloud series, Dragon Quest VIII, Rogue Galaxy, the Professor Layton franchise and – most recently – the surprise-hit PS3-exclusive JRPG Ni No Kuni, is officially working on a PlayStation 4 game.

Word comes from Gematsu (via Nikkei Trendy), with CEO and President Akihiro Hino stating, “It’s still in the planning stages, but we are also working on a PlayStation 4 title. We might be able to announce it soon.”

What could the game be? The fact that it’s a PS4 game evokes three franchises (or would-be franchises) in particular: Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy and Ni No Kuni. The latter would be an exceptionally exciting prospect considering Level-5 was clear that if the game sold well in the west – and it did – they would think about doing another one. However, a new Dark Cloud and Rogue Galaxy would also be cool, as would an entirely new game.

What do you want Level-5’s PlayStation 4 game to be?

As long as it's not White Knight Chronicles, we are good to go.

I hope PS4 brings back the JRPG's for consoles

I dont think they could. WKCII didnt sell particularly well...

Next gen Dark Cloud would be awesome, but Ni No Kuni sequel is probably the safe bet.

New No Kuni sounds like a hit.  Wont make the mistake of missing out a collector's edition if it does happen.

Also I doubt I can play the FF XIV beta this weekend, I already registered, I wonder if I can just give it to someone else.  Says not to do it, but meh, I'd rather let someone else take advantage of it, not really into MMOs

They only way you would have been signed up is through your Square Enix account and either opting in to the beta or submitting a beta application. Did you ever play FF XI? It could have come from there also but everything is tied back to your Square Enix account.

beat that mass manuevy back in novems (non dlc ending on normal/medium difficulty)

just beat it now with dlc ending & casual mode (nobody got time 4 dat).

wow. so much bettah. lets just say if the game moves me towards novel ideas then it has truly suceeded. fallout 3? swoosh. bio 1? swoosh. mass 2 then 3? bettah believ it.

long story short, lol at thinkin the first ending was suitable
