The Official PlayStation 3 | ViTA Thread Vol. Plenty of Life Left

Okami is so boring. It takes twenty mins for the game to give you actual control. Twenty mins of talking them another seventeen of more talking

^^ wouldnt a mere sync have saved this situation?

I have all my trophies up until it happened. That isnt the issue. It is that my save is corrupted and I cannot retrieve it from the cloud on my Vita, so its looking like my only option is to re-start on the Vita without the option to cross-save.

I tried re-installing the game, but nothing.

Does vita have game data saved ala PS3?

i dunno....for me i sync everything, esp. saves (its the only reason i plus). so if it were me i wldve bn clouding that vita save + syncing trophs.

see. what im sayin....so the corrupted save on the hdd wldve nvr been an issue. did i read u right?

Damn, sorry to hear that. When you say you can't retrieve it do you mean from PS+ saves or the cross save?

The saved data is stored in the bubble with the game itself so you can't access it like the PS3. You can transfer it to your PC or PS3 but it transfers the whole application with the save

Just got this for £8, pretty good responses so far but haven't had time to play it.
I've been playing Street Fighter x Tekken on the Vita and it is a must buy IMO.

From the cross-save.

Tales of Xillia is coming to NA on PS3 August 6th. :hat

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 is being localized as well.

Nice to see.

Don't you have your vita set to automatically upload to the PS+ online storage?
It only updats when the save file changes so it would have your uncorrupted save file.

I never fully saved the data though. All you have to do is choose "download from cloud" and the trophies would pop. You didnt need to save it. So the last save file on my Vita is from the second chapter. :{

That looks wild. Very cool

Speaking off more creative type games, saw this on game informer...

While wandering the showfloor at GDC, I chanced upon this delightful little indie gem. Now I can't get it out of my mind, so I thought I'd put it into yours.

Atum was developed by a group of students from NHTV IGAD's University Gamelab in the Netherlands. The game starts players in a first-person perspective in a stark grey room. In one corner you can see a TV and couch, and in another a desk and a PC. The player wanders the room for a second and then settles down at his desk and starts up a game. This is what makes Atum interesting; it's about a game within a game. It's all very meta, or post-modern, or whatever other fancy term they're using in art school these days.

The game within the game is a platformer starring a white silhouette of a man who seems to be running from something. As you run and jump through this 2D world, you start to confront certain obstacles that you can't overcome on your own, and you have to jump outside of the game into the virtual first-person world and look for objects that will help you progress.

For example, at one point in the platformer, the surrounding areas become too dark to navigate, so I looked around the virtual office and found a lighter, which I held up to the virtual monitor and the darkened areas lit up. A nearby cigarette could also be used to create a smokescreen to help sneak by a security camera, while magnets could be used to pick up large metal objects.

The best part about Atum is that it's playable right now online for free, so stop listening to me ramble about the game and check it out for yourself. Personally, I found the game charming, but the gameplay lacked a certain amount of polish. However, it's important to remember that this is more of a student project than a final game, and as a student project it's a great example of the potential of the video game industry to create compelling experiences. I hope the group of students at Sassybot Studio continues to work on the project for a possible retail release.

ATUM was a Student Showcase finalist of the 2013 Independent Games Festival, which took place during the 2013 Game Developers Conference.

Heavenly Sword worth the pickup?

How about Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection?

Heading to gamestop tomorrow to pickup a few old games.

Batman: Arkham Origins Coming This Year!

Rumors began circulating last year that the next entry in the "Arkham" games would be an origin story and Game Informer has revealed that those rumors were in fact true. Titled Batman: Arkham Origins, the game will take place before the previous two games in the series and will detail Batman's first time meeting with several characters. One of the developers on the game described its plot as follows:

"Eight of the best assassins in the world have come to Gotham City for one night, Christmas Eve of all nights, to kill the Bat."

Though not confirmed, it would appear the game will take place in and around Gotham City in an open-world environment like the previous game, "Arkham City."

Fans will notice that the biggest difference between this and the previous "Arkham" games is that Rocksteady is not developing the title. Instead, Warner Bros. Games Montreal has been given the reigns of the franchise. Batman: Arkham Origins will be available for the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on October 25, 2013.

They've also announced that the first handheld entry in the franchise will be available on the same day. Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate will launch for the 3DS and PS Vita and is a different experience that picks up after the events of Batman: Arkham Origins.

Check out Game Informer's cover of the game for the first look at one of the franchise's newest villains, Deathstroke, as well as the game's official logo below!
