The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

385k :smokin

I'll probably donate $100. Digital, retail plus the soundtrack is worth that price imo. SOTN is probably the best PsOne game ever, although my favorite is FF IX (sometimes FF VII).

David Hayter VA the $850k stretch goal, so you know it's going at least that high.

I'll wait for it to hit PS+ for free.

I think it can hit $2M honestly (I'm not saying it will) but people love IGA Castlevania games. He even got Michiru Yamane to compose the OST :smokin

I'd buy it :lol

There's enough iconic enemies if Castlevania for it too.

In a way SOTN was like an action RPG imo.

^ Just from what I've read and some limited demo-time.  I have a Logi DFGT... and while I really enjoyed that, I got to demo the T500 and was blown away.  Everything was just a lot nicer vs the DFGT.  I've also demoed the G27 a bunch of times.  That was obvs nicer than the DFGT, but still behind the Thrustmaster.

Yeah, of course having 3 pedals would have been better, but at the same time, a lot of cars nowadays have clutchless, sequential ********, so I guess that's how they justified not including it.  Obvs you can get the shifter and 3-pedal set, but it ultimately comes down to getting what you pay for.  I'm just not looking to spend that type of money on all the upgrades.  Getting a Thrustmaster wheel, minus the 3-pedals & shifter, but slightly cheaper was a reasonable compromise IMO.

Just checked Amazon UK and the t500rs is only £43 more than the t300rs :lol

Didn't know the T300RS was that much :eek Definitely a step above Logitech, though (I've had a DFGT and a G27 previously). Belt-driven > Gear driven wheels. They're just so much smoother.

Currently using Fanatec... I don't know if they work on the PS4 though.

What's the US price?

We just announced ARK: Survival Evolved and I’m here to tell you how excited we are about bringing this experience to PS4 and Project Morpheus. From the earliest stages of our development we knew we had an opportunity to create a game that pushes next-gen gameplay experiences in addition to providing awesome visuals. The result is that the world of ARK and its inhabitants feel like a real place that you can walk through, explore, and truly experience in your own way.

The PS4’s powerful hardware has allowed us to bring a scale and scope to the game that wasn’t previously possible in the console space. We’re shooting for the moon with this one, a fully persistent game world, tens of thousands of AI entities, totally destructible foliage and environment, and multiplayer on a huge scale. And yeah, we’ve got dinosaurs. Dinosaurs that you can ride! At release, we’re shooting for about 60 distinct species, and we don’t plan to just have them just wandering around as cannon fodder.

All creatures in ARK have their own living ecosystems, predator hierarchies, and an autonomy that exists outside of the players’ influences. Their interactions with each other intertwine with the way that players might use them, because almost every one of our creatures will be able to be tamed and used for peace or for war. The PS4 has the horsepower to pull this off, so we’re really excited to be finally bringing these kinds of next-generation gameplay experiences to consoles.

We didn’t stop there, though, because what’s better than experiencing all of this as if you were really there? After working for almost three years pioneering and creating high-end experiences for HMDs, I can tell you with good confidence that not much compares to soaring over the jungles and mountains of ARK’s islands on the back of your very own pteranodon. The feeling of immersion the team has created in this beautiful world simply has to be experienced first-hand; it is profound and impactful, and even for me was a little bit surprising when I first tried ARK in VR.

When you design an experience like this, one of the most important things is to not fall into the trap of focusing on one platform and type of input while letting the chips fall where they may on the rest. Just like a mouse versus a gamepad, you have to design with VR in mind from the beginning. All of your testing, all of your gameplay elements, they need to tie into the experience of wearing a VR headset, the different FOV, the perception of motion and presence that exists between looking at a flat computer screen and virtually “being there.” In the end we don’t just “allow” for VR, we recommend it — and ARK will be a richer game because of it.

Looks amazing. Just in time for Jurassic world :lol

Can you share anything from that meeting?

I'll throw out some hints maybe even confirm a few things once we get closer. Saying anything right now is too early. The week of the show is pretty much fair game. They way I've been doing it the past few years is once I see what our reel and lineup are solidified with I'll drop that info to a trusted individual on NT (you know who you are). Expect that tonight or tomorrow. Once the pressers start I'll drop all the info in the E3 thread right before they start dropping bombs.

Truth be told I was shocked at the few things that have been kept super secret. From what I have personally seen and what first hand discussions with other developers I've had I'm confident in saying this E3 is going to be the best for announcements (not necessarily games on the floor), in the past 5 years.

PT will be remade as a fan project using Unreal Engine 4.

Guarantee it.

We already kind of know Fallout 4 will be there. That alone is huge. I can't wait for E3.

Gotta love the 40 page thread jumps.
