it's helpful. I don't think it's cheating, since there's several well hidden areas/items.

In regards to your last sentence, I don't think that can happen.

Since you have to beat the story bosses to access more areas.

Nah use that Prima Guide, you are gonna need it, they game doesn't give much guidance to where to go. I was stuck on Rom for NG++ finally beat him during halftime yesterday.
