The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

PS4 version holds up, but I'm watching this on a 1080p monitor so the difference will be more on a 4K screen.

Hair tech is definitely better on PS5. Looks like he's used Dax on the PS4 version.

I might be going with the SteelSeries 7P instead of the 3D pulse. Reviews are looking good... Might even go 7X so I’m covered on both systems.

Cloth ear cups, ski goggle headband, smaller dongle and equal or better sound is very enticing.

Ugh, guess I'm glad I haven't bought a C9 or newer yet. LG has been dropping the ball.

Saw some people on reddit who ordered from Walmart have their Xbox come in yesterday. They said their status on the order never changed and showed preparing for shipment. Maybe some of us will get our PS5 tomorrow or Monday :nerd:

What a surprise that would be.

Yeah, anything missing the premium ratings of VRR is not fully baked yet. It’s just too early (especially if you have PS5 & XSX). Saddening because I just discovered a legitimate reason to buy an android OS based unit that would save me on monthly expenses. The TV would literally start to pay for itself.

Off course jetpacunlimited jetpacunlimited will be the first one to get a next gen console

Thought you had 2 C9's or CX's?

None of the TV manufacturers are fully ready for next gen or the new graphics cards it seems.
I've seen issues for Sony, Samsung and LG.

PS5 doesn't even have VRR yet but by the time it's needed I would expect it to have it and for LG to have fixed the problem.
If LG can't fix it then waiting till next year probably best.

Everyone buying these TV's are basically beta testers right now.

Most of the games we've seen new and BC titles have good performance so VRR is not needed yet IMO.

I have a 65E6P, 55B7P, and a 65C8P

Living the OLED life.

I'm so lost on this new tech, I'm just now starting to understand HDR 10+ and all that stuff. What the heck is VRR
Variable Refresh Rate.

Basically, The TV will sync it's refresh rate with the framerate of the game
So if your game is running at 50fps on a screen that has a refresh rate of 60Hz, The TV will change its refresh rate to 50Hz to match the framerate of the game.

It makes the games smoother with less tearing but in an ideal world the game should be locked at 30, 60 or 120 fps so you won't need VRR.

For many months now, our team at BioWare has been hard at work updating the textures, shaders, models, effects, and technical features of three enormous games. Our goal was not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form. It’s been amazing to see the adventures of Commander Shepard take on new life in super-sharp resolution, faster framerates, and beautiful visual enhancements. As game developers, we always hope that our games will transcend their original platforms. Having the opportunity to remaster the trilogy means that the fruits of a decade of our work will live on, and will be experienced better and clearer than ever before.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will include single-player base content and DLC from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3, plus promo weapons, armors, and packs – all remastered and optimized for 4k Ultra HD. It will be available in Spring 2021 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with forward compatibility and targeted enhancements on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. More information to come in the new year!

Meanwhile here at BioWare, a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe. We are in early stages on the project and can’t say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we’ll be going next.

For me personally, Mass Effect represents years of work and countless special memories, so every year I feel incredibly fortunate to celebrate N7 Day with players around the world. Thank you so much for supporting us over the years. I can’t wait to continue our adventure together – revisiting our favorite memories in the Mass Effect universe, and creating brand new ones!
