how are u guys impressed with killzone? that game looks terrible gameplay wise, looks nice tho...

How does one call a game terrible "gameplay wise" without even playing it ? on some "that looks like it taste horrible"....ok....i usually eat with my eyes

That being said....i played killzone 2 and enjoyed it. I didn't think it was that great. But everyone is just so used to COD that anything that doesn't' control like COD is trash. I personally thought Killzone multiplayer was great....but the single player wasn't as good as Resistance.

I am usually disappointed by these conferences because i always get my hopes up. But seriously relax people. If they fail at e3 then i will condemn the system. People saying PS4 is trash when we haven't even seen a game being played on it....aside from watchdogs on a mock-ed up PC rig....and now Killzone.

The only way you get me to buy a ps4 before 2015 is exclusive games.......cough cough KINGDOM HEARTS

Sony HOPES Kill Zone and the rest of their games will reach the graphical prowess they showed yesterday. Sony is notorious for showing glorified tech demos only to release a game with half of the visual quality.

killzone was live gameplay off a devkit

they learned their lesson from 2005

well my question to that is...could that tech demo run on a ps3? i feel the ps3 can put out that level of graphics..

^ Haha, at first, I thought it was a "video" of the gameplay cuz the movement looked similar to what I saw during the presentation.  So when Fallon asked to try it out, I thought they were gonna decline... but I guess it was actual gameplay!

Big Killzone fan but what was there to be impressed by.  Visually that Capcom dragon game looked the best.

I'm assuming i'll need to upgrade to an LED 1080p for this system.

Thats exactly what Sony DOESN'T want to do. Thats how they shot themselves in the foot last time.

Sony needs to come out of the gate running and hitting hard. Nintendo already jumped out there, Sony needs to be next, and they need to deliver hard this holiday season.

Microsoft needs to make sure they don't drop the ball. Because the PS4 graphics are looking amazing.

Thats because this was the Sony PS4 hardware unveiling event. Not E3.

You can't base your opinion on the hardware based off of the Titles you saw. You HAVE to base it on the graphics and the capabilities of the games. Not the games content, thats what E3 is for.

We can't say "None of those games look like the type of games I'd play so I don't like it".

Sony isn't making the games. They're making the hardware.





Everyone is talking about games this, games that, blah blah. This is about the CONSOLE. Would you judge a television by the shows you can watch? No. Judge the hardware by its capabilities, not by the developers who have nothing to do with the hardware.




But aside from that. This will be copped on RD. It looks amazing, and hopefully we'll get to judge the games at launch during E3. I can't wait to get this thing up and running this holiday season.

I can't wait to see what Microsoft has in store. I'm not banking on one console at all. Never have, and I never will. I will have all next gen consoles, again...


Gran Turismo will show us what this console can really do... Can't ******g wait...

true in a sense..not knocking your tv programming analogy... but a system with games you arent interested in and are only aestethically pleasing wont win in the long haul. Fun-factor and likeability is what substains in most part.... look at nintendo. They have never made a system that was really head and shoulders superior then its competition. Look at the current set of systems..... Off of graphics alone the ps3 is easily the front-runner. But it is the range and variety of games.

As far as motion etc... i think its in its early stages and if it is used properly and when needed it can make for better games. Think of a fight night with actual fighting, or a fps based on true accuracy rather the dpad/stick movement. Ninteendo when waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overboard with it, and often times used it when it wasnt warrant, but it is justified and proved to be a great thing with games like zelda, the call of duties etc, the dancee games and what not.

yea it will be wierd tho for sports games... one thing about them is as graphics improved in great strides, the fluidness and looseness of the animation hasnt evolved as much, and i think it will become more apparent when graphics almost look true to life, and the players movemnet looks droid/animated/ robotic even.

Those in-game graphics were sick. Especially the fire. PS3 graphics are very good, but, you can see flaws everywhere like environment textures and close up textures.

was never a killzone fan... hated the bulkiness if you know what i mean.

super curious what cod is gonna bring next gen... hopefully some vehicles and interactive environments similar to bf games.

Jack Tretton Confirms PS 4 Games Priced $60 + Sample Games Before Buying.

On pricing, Tretton said that the PS4 is "designed with the game developer in mind and the consumer in mind," and will offer games with prices ranging from $0.99 to the more traditional $60 range with the ability for players to sample games before they buy.

"I think people are willing to pay if they see the value there," he said. "The heat for the true gamer is on the console."

He said that games on mobile devices are "additive experiences" and that gamers won't "migrate down the food chain" for their primary gaming experience.

The event yesterday really was impressive, but felt a bit shallow. The games looked great, but nothing bout them were revolutionary. The biggest problem I had was that people left the conference talking about specs and graphics. There was no talk about any game play elements, just graphics. No one said, "Oh man, that game looks fun I can't wait to play that!" All people were hyping up were the graphics. Graphics don't sell systems!

Sony needs to provide consumers with something that keeps their attention. Their vision on what they will actually do with the system was muddled for me.

They focused a lot of energy talking about features they were HOPING to deliver on the PS4. For example.. the Gaikai streaming service. They HOPE to one day stream live games to an already defunct PS Vita. Am I the only one who thinks this is a bad idea? Who would want to pay extra money for a failed system in hopes Sony supports this functionality?

And my biggest problem is the price. Despite what anyone says, one of PS3's biggest flaws was the price. Most consumers are not paying $500+ for a gaming console. Sony needs to release this thing at around $400 for it to penetrate the market and take away steam from the Wii U and XBox. With the current specs it doesn't look like that will be the case.

I'll take a wait and see approach when it comes to the PS4 and at the end of the day games is all that matters. If the Sony can deliver the great games they'll be alright.

Specs and Graphics are important though. When last did you see a new console announcement without a tech demo. Let them show all the tech demos now and unleash the kraken at E3 with more games and off course 3rd party games.

As for them hoping to stream to the vita, it's not a hope, they showed it working live on the conference and it will work with everygame because the PS4 was built with this in mind. What they said they hoped for was to stream PS1,PS2, PS3 and PS Mobile games to any device. They called it everything every where and they just started the proejct.

As already pointed out too Killzone was shown on Jimmy Fallon so no trickery there.

Price wise, Blu-ray is cheap, no cell, no exotic hardware, It's going to be $499 max

Xbox is sure to blow this silly system out of the water. lol i'm prob just saying that because im bummed .. I'm just not excited as i thought id be

If Xbox blows this thing out it won't be on power but on services. The leaks have shown that MS is focused on kinect and the living room so expect some sort of integration with windows 8, lots of apps and services.
