DC games were mainly 240p/480i unless you used the VGA box so most CRTs should be fine to display the games. I think it's just a limitation of your TV due to the small size. :(

Gotcha my bro. The shop won't let you test it out? You could buy any crappy DC sports game as a test disk.
Yeah I could hook it up to a tv there...but no dreamcast games to see if the laser worked

Grab a crap sports game as a tester. If the system works, you can a)either replace the case with an unofficial one or b)remove the case completely and give it a good scrubbing. The price on the system is really decent if it is fully functional.

Actually isco isco scratch a) as it looks like there are no more replacement cases online. There used to be a stack from the mid-00s to late 00s. Just take it apart and scrub it down or if you're uncomfortable doing that you can just carefully wipe it down with a rubbing alcohol & water mix.

Wow 15 years ago?!?! I feel so old lol, I remember how big the jump this game was from III, spent countless hours on this back in HS and college days.

Went out and purchased the PC version of GTA III which ran like utter 'ish (as it was not optimized for PCs) then d/led a copy of Vice City as I didn't wanna get burned again. They actually spent some time optimizing the game for PCs and it ran quite well. Just a fantastic upgrade to the original GTA III.

My dreamcast is dead, picked up a replacement from a place power play games a couple years ago. Its so easy to burn games on that thing. It's as easy as manning a mix cd like back in the day. Bought a 12 pack at Walgreens for $5. Downloaded crazy Taxi, sonic adventure 1 and 2, Spiderman, both power stones, house of the dead, and a couple others that I can't remember. Man if I didn't just cop Mario odyssey last night I would be playing the dreamcast

Careful bro, the burned discs are known to damage your GD-ROM laser over prolonged use. Main issue is the way the tracks are stored on the CD-ROM vs. the GD-ROM. The DC's laser and motor have to do a fair bit of seeking with CD-ROMs.

I've heard that, I haven't played in a while but I did notice it was a little loud last time. Thanks

Played street fighter 3 and syphon filter omega strain today (PS2)

SF3 beyond easy..only set up my character in syphon filter..games seems dope AF..need to play on a CRTV tho lol

I'm mad I passed on Mortal Kombat Deception yesterday..ill go back later to get it

In case anyone didn't already know

https://www.gamestop.com/collection/retro-classics

Gamestop got old school consoles/games for sale

They also have flash sales bi weekly it seems, or buy 2 get 1..

There’s plenty of horrible reviews on GameStop’s retro service, if your buying a disc game don’t expect the case for it, it will come in a paper case, gamestop for some reason seems to throw away the cases even with recent games don’t understand why...if you get a hard to find cartridge game open it and verify it’s authenticity...I’ve traded retro games at game stop they look at the title type it in and that’s it they don’t check anything so it’s very easy to pass a fake snes nes gameboy sega or 64 game

I’ve had a good experience with the 1 retro I made with them tho
