Yo. Yeah, I guess I'm second generation. I was born and raised in Canada, but my parents were both born and raised in Antigua. 

Same with me. Born in the US but I lived in Antigua till i was about 6 or so then we moved to Texas.

Restarted my painkiller withdrawal process again because I relapsed. 

Managed to get down to 330mg from 400mg (regularly took 500mg too on bad days) but my mom accidentally left the pills in the kitchen so I took 450-500 for a week or so again. The pain got so bad I couldn't resist.

I'm back down to 350mg now but I literally wake up every morning with excruciating pain.

I'm supposed to quit so I can try an alternative medication (Lyrica, Gabapentin) that isn't even guaranteed to work, unlike opiates.

Specialist says I can't take both at the same time due to drug interactions but how am I supposed to completely stop taking my painkillers when I'm prescribed them for 24/7 awful pain in the first place

How long would you need to go / have the precious medication out your system before you can tempt the new one?

Once I no longer have withdrawals from not taking the painkillers I can try the new meds. I'm following a slow taper schedule rather than cold turkey so it'll take a few months.
