All sorts of factors contribute to it. Such as celebrities, peers, etc. But parents are the ones paying in most cases unless it is a Jenner who can pay for her own.

Well some are for medical reasons, that I can understand. But if it is for cosmetic reasons, I am baffled that someone that age can be so insecure and self-conscious.

this is the result of a superficial society and or generational privilege. based on their age & what they faced it is easy to understand their insecurity and why'd they want to change. its just unfortunate especially for the girl in the top video b/c she was cute young lady prior. ppl need better comebacks in regards to jokes.
