the thread about nothing...

Been watching “ Lottery changed my life” and all these winners are really weak minded. Worrying about what people will think of them if they don’t buy stuff for them and how to spend it. If I win I’ll tell friends and family not to expect anything from me but MSG.
Hit em like this.

do you play the lottery? i was thinking maybe the target demographics of people playing the lottery are weak-minded.

My dad may have won $2.5 million off a lottery scratcher back in October/November. However, there’s an ongoing investigation to the liquor store where he bought it. It seems the cashier did one of those “aww, you only won $10. Here take this” and kept his winning ticket. The lotto official opened an investigation and will tally up the total winners/locations once that particular ticket is done being sold in stores. If this store/store clerk is found guilty he will be going to court for grand larceny as the value of the ticket is in the millions.

My pops said he’s going to break all of us off with equal money splits if this happens.

Did he photograph it? Probably a rhetorical question, but want to cover all bases. Damn that is shady.

No he did not. However, he’s on store camera purchasing the ticket and you probably see that the store clerk didn’t even scan the ticket, he just pulled out $10 from the register to give to my dad. He described the winning ticket and it’s distinct differences from a regular ticket to the lotto official and he confirmed it, enough to open the investigation.

These lotto tickets have codes/numbers assigned to them and the actual store so if you find a big winner ticket at a store in Los Angeles but the ticket gets cashed in at a store in San Fran....the code is still going to show it was from the store in Los Angeles. They have had this happen in the past when it comes to ticket fraud.

So your father thought he won $2 million, got $10 and then what happened at the store? He didn't protest right away? I don't think any sane human being would leave that store with only $10.

Same here. But it will still leak out somehow. A lot of gossipers and haters everywhere. Good thing Idgaf what people think.
That‘s a good mindset to have. Just win your money, move to a new location and stay lowkey.

Unless you live in 1 of the 6 states where the winner can remain anonymous, people are going to find out.
People can findout, but it’s all about how lowkey you stay after you win. I would definitely move to a new location after I win and not broadcast to the world that I just won millions of dollars in a lottery jackpot game.

I have my own licensed house painting business so I’d definitely invest more money into it and set up a nice office for it. Add some vehicles and employees for expansion too. I’d also like to set up a sneaker store as a side thing if this happens.

He protested after he got a nagging feeling of doubt about a week or two later. He asked to see the ticket but the clerk said they couldn’t find it and must have thrown it away. However, that’s a lie because stores do not throw away winning ticket (no matter how small a winner). All winning tickets get scanned and the machine produces an official lotto receipt which gets staples by the clerk and collected at the end of the month to be mailed to lotto headquarters where they reimburse the store for money they handed to the winners.

My dad still has regret over just taking the clerks’ word and leaving so quickly. He told me he was in a rush and totally forgot to scan the ticket before handing it over to him. He just assumed that 10 bucks was the prize a left :smh: We’ll see what happens. Some of the lotto people told him that the clerk or store owner most likely haven’t cashed the ticket yet or destroyed it after they found out they can’t cash it. If they do.......there’s going to be some serious jail time.

I remember watching this in the living room & my mother was at the table doing her work & the next thing I know some huge muscular dude was bouncing on a **** & gayly grunting  . Why that scene was put there is beyond me.

Damn... anything worth more than $50 I snap a pic of it. I mean he should've known right away how much he won, what went amiss there?

He usually does scan the ticket and THATS what’s really ironic, sad and funny at the same time. He literally smacks his head when he tells us his recollection of it all  :smh:

He has a good chance at claiming the money if it turns out to be a winner at that store and the lotto official assured him he’ll be getting his full attention to this case. Apparently it’s common crime with liquor stores since lotto official routinely set up “sting” operations. They’ll send clothed undercovers to cash in big winning tickets and arrest those clerks who give the wrong prize money or flat out tell the customers the ticket is a non-winner.

I wish you and your family get justice in this situation. But knowing how this world operates, just words without evidence usually does not produce favorable results. :smh:

Thanks, Freaky. I’m hoping this turns out well for us, I’m not holding my breath but I know we have a shot. Once that particular game scratcher is expired they will be able to see if a grand prize winner was assigned to that liquor store just by looking at the codes on the rolls that store received.
