No b/c Blur isn't big in the U.S., Placebo definitely, Pulp neither. Oasis has 'Wonderwall' some ppl over here might recognize it, but considering the time period they weren't big over here either. Fanbases for music w/ " foreign accents" is kinda niche over here. Even strong Canadians are frowned upon to degree. Jamaicans have managed to find themselves in the States, but even them it's regional specific, they get a wave here every few years. Afrobeat only had a run here b/c ppl thought it was JamaicanI don't know what you think France is, we have water too
More seriously I know when I was a kid that was the period we heard a lot about Placebo / Oasis / Blur, all these groups, I didn't especially listened to them, but I did listen to Noir Désir, I remember going to a concert from them around 2002 I think and the singer stopped a very few seconds the show just to tell people to don't push because people in front of the scene were quite crushed to the scene, it appeared noble to me at the time, but when someone makes something wrong later, everything he did right is subjet to reinterpretation sometimes, like if you were thinking how kind R Kelly was to take care of Aaliyah at the time as a singer, you might reconsider it now
I say that because the lead singer of Noir Désir killed his wife, a french actress while they had a dispute, which proceeded, with time, to the split of the group, it was a great band, so from a listener point of view, that sucks, he continued solo or with other people but I no longer listen to him, because you have artists who killed but were never in something moralising or anything else, so you might keep listening to them, but all the preachers who judge everyone and finished acting worse than them
I bet sales of these skyrocketed shortly afterward. Thanks for sharing your memories of Fast Times At Ridgemont High because it's one of my all-time favorite movies!
That's nice of you to get your nephew ingratiated with it because it's an enduring classic.
Although I have it on DVD, I still watch it when it occasionally comes on syndicated cable with commercial breaks and all just to pass time at home.
That movie showed it was interesting to see how youth culture was predicated in a region well before rap music became mainstream and accepted by all demographics where it later influenced styles and cultures all over America.
Not yet, but its queued up w/ Peninsula. It's just that the last 2 times I had either ready to go something random grasped my attention. Like I finally watched Drive. It was a good movie. I think the majority of the movie was "as is" as in based in reality, but there's a couple scenes like the elevator one where some parts of kinda felt a daydream. Idk, if you've seen it you might understand, but its a good movie. Feels every isolated w/ believable crime.marikomorose Hey man. Have you ever checked out Lost in Translation yet?
Which year is the film drive from? I’m seeing it linked with different years, but with the same title. If I do decide to check it out, I want to make sure it’s the same one you watched. Welp, back in the hospital from some unexplained seizure
Same symptoms as about a year ago. I only remember watching tv and then the next thing I remember was the ambulance arriving and feeling really really weak and nauseous with a bad headache. During the part I have no recollection of, I apparently started saying nonsensical gibberish, all my muscles started spasming and my moath started foaming.
As expected, no explanation found, just like the last one. Tomorrow I’ll probably be released, assuming further tests turn out ‘normal’.
I got pretty lucky here with the timing of the seizure but in the previous one for example, I was just about to go up my stairs as I was about to open the door to the stairway, the seizure kicked in and I hit my head on the wall while falling down

Dude, that’s so cool that you’re introducing your nephew to FTARH! It’s even cooler that he’s attending Van Nuys High School and you graduated from there as well! Thank you for sharing this post; that’s so awesome!
Yeah man, I’m glad he chose to go there. His reason for it was that bro, sis and I all went there.I bet sales of these skyrocketed shortly afterward.

I’ve heard that the movie helped Vans sell these like crazy in the 80’s. Like, serious units! Lol. I have a deadstock pair myself and I might slip them on the next time I pick him up from school
