The Timepiece Thread vol: READ THE 1st POST!!!

New BLNR rolling out.

Jubilee aside, the dial/bezel/hour markers/hands just seem a bit off imo. Guess a bigger difference compared to the original then I anticipated.

I swear there is no difference between the "old" BLNR and the new in terms of the watch face (hands, markers and dial). In every review I've seen there has been no mention of any differences.

Do you mean when paired with jubilee the maxi dial in general looks off?

i've always dug the bell & ross square watches for its novelty especially the skull and if i had thanos' forearms then i might actually consider buying one

i saw mrporters article on dive watches and they showed the b&r 03-92 diver and its not too bad, maybe i like it right now because its somewhat different from the norm dive watch but yeah... sort of want

yeah that at 42mm is definitely too big for me and thats why cartier is smart to offer medium size to their santos... this truly might be my next piece

In the top of the heap as my next piece, most likely the stainless dial. Also, is it me or does Rolex have the most favorable bracelet taper of any manufacturer? I swear all other bracelets just look clunky/blocky in comparison. :/

Yeah omega in general are lacking when I comes to this. I think that sometimes the bracelets can also be a little sharp along the edges which can cause some discomfort and when compared to Rolex a step behind.

The one you have picked out is a quality classic piece. Have you considered the denim?

Went to pick up half of my order yesterday at the AP Boutique, 15450ST blue arrived for pick up. Asked for a 15500st in blue and was turned down. Spoke to the manager and said he could give black or gray. Told him my bro wanted black but I like blue dials. He told me if I prepaid for a black and blue on the spot, he would get me both by the summertime.

Welp.

Pics or it didn't happen

And call me crazy, but I'm not a huge fan of the 15500. The smaller hour markers and the absence of the "AUTOMATIC" text make what I already consider a relatively boring dial even more boring due to the extra unused real estate. Something about this just looks off to me:

Maybe my opinion will change once I see one in person.

I haven't seen one in person, but I agree with you, about the AUTOMATIC text missing. The new indices may take time to get used to. I think it will grow on me in the future though.

And a side by side comparison with my 26331OR. Huge difference between the 37mm to 41mm.

Will post some better ones tomorrow, but that's all I have for now since I keep them in my office.

The 15450ST looks awesome! So does the 26331OR.

Another watch I feel like AP dropped the ball with is the 26315. If only they got rid of the date window and somehow managed to make the watch thinner (9mm or so) it would be a winner. But at 38mm x 11mm, the dial is way too busy and the watch, I can only assume, will wear a bit brick-ish.

I'm likely going to get my GMT cleaned up and sell it and track down a 116618LN (and I have a 114060 incoming shortly). That should do it for me for a while.

I wear my smart watch so much that my regular ones never get any play.
I have 4 Kenneth Coles, 2 of them i literally never wear but keep them around. Other 2 i wear for nice events that i wouldn't wear a smart watch to.

Congrats on the pick-ups! Everybody rocking APs on here all of a sudden :lol :smokin

Same here... not a fan of the new 15500. The proportions look off to me, dial seems to have too much negative space in the lower half; and I still am not into that updated minute track. I wear mine more often on rubber. Feels more wearable every day since the switch.

Thanks for the suggestion, luckily the AD had just that in. Not a fan of the denim dial, but as far as the sizing and fit, perfecto! The lack of taper on the bracelet doesn’t bother me as much as I thought. Now it’s between this and the Tudor Pelagos LHD for literally the same price.

I have the 26315 on the way in silver/blue but they can only promise before the end of the year. Actually the only reason I got the 15450st was to get the 26315st (and to get in their good graces enough for them to sell me a 15407), they made me buy both. I made a post about it a few months ago.

Are you just using the factory AP bands? Would love to see photos. Considering ordering one as well.
