The Ultimate Soccer Thread 2012-2013 Vol. 3 Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga etc

Suarez is the best player in the epl, even if he sucked today, and if he is a scumbag.

Piers Morgan has me dying when I read his TL. So much Arsene+ Arsenal slander lol
RVP stats disagree

Is "Don't show the shirt!" the new "Don't show the pitch invader!" for PL producers?

We want to know what it said, dammit.

Yes.

They don't show the shirt, because they don't know what it says. If it says anything offensive/cussing etc, the broadcaster can be sued.

As for the pitch invader, they don't show them, because they know people do it 98% of the time just to get on tv and be noticed. So if you take away the tv aspect, less people will be interested in invading.

Hey lads, glad to have found this thread on NT. Too bad I found it after the matches are over for the day...Oh well, there's always wednesday and the FA

Arteta will be out for 3 weeks. Diaby will prob be injured by then.
Jack was great today. Gives it his all.
Ramsey was impressive today. I understand why AW plays him out wide but he look good in the center. JJust wish he would keep it simpler. Someone tweeted an older video of him and its clear why AW wants to keep him. .

What a **** day all around. :(
I know that feel, bro :{

To make matters worse Remy signed with Newcastle today and it looks like M'Villa is headed to QPR (£7.8m).

We are half way through January and we have no real link with anyone besides a overhyped kid from the Championship (Zaha) and a striker from Athletico not named Falcao (Adrian Lopez). Holtby, Ba, and M'villa all signed for other PL clubs, Barcelona wont sell Villa until the Summer and Shaw re-uped with Southampton.

On top of that despite temporarily shipping out Chamakh and Djourou, Wenger said he doesn't see anyone else heading out so we'll have Arshavin and Squillaci eating up close to £150k p/w (£3m until the end of the year) for doing **** all. All this talk of boycotts by City fans for high match day ticket prices at Arsenal....Arsenal makes £3.3m per home game so they could ship those two out and give away one PL match for free to 60,000 supporters and clubs bottom line at the end of the year and the squads production would be exactly the same but at least the fans would be happy.

14 days in and not even linked with anyone who could potentially carry us up the table ala Arshavin in 2009, none. We dont have enough players with quality that are consistant to finish in the top 4 currently. It hurst me to admit that but its the truth and sadly instead of spending to fight to keep our spot in the top 4 and look to build on it over the summer the board will leverage against the risk of losing out on CL money by not spending.

As I said before the window started Diaby and Theo (hopefully) will be touted as "new signings" and business will be done.

Ahh oh well. Remy's been seemingly underperforming this year, though I would have liked to see him in an Arsenal kit. I've pretty much given up on this season already, and hope we do well enough in the Europa League next year... Maybe that'll be a wake up call to Arsene and he'll actually start working harder to improve this team, through depth or otherwise.

Random soccer thought, Chepo needs to swallow his pride and call Vela back to the NT... :x

good news for arsenal fans though... Doubt QPR will stay afloat, so you should be able to get MVila for the low in the summer..

So embarrassing and paining.
I'm still confused to how starting Diaby was a better option than starting Ramsey, could have had a double pivot going on. Even Coquelin who lacks experience but at least he's fit and an actual DM. He's one of the reasons why we didn't buy one, so use him. Arteta can only be used so much. He got injured around this time last year with the same or a similar injury. I believe that stats of having won a game without him are 0% or a awfully low number.

I know I can't be the only one that's been getting annoyed with Walcott as of late. Why is he taking FKs and corners, they're all awful. In the previous game, he kept drifting centrally. Leaving only Sanga to operate the wing and pushing Giroud out wide to the left. He was so uninterested during the game. By the end of the match Giroud had more touches then him. It's as though AW is doing this to keep him pleased so that he can stay. He does have the upper hand in this situation. Whether Wenger plans to buy or not, he did say after the contract was sorted. Theo could stall for the next 16 days. As of now there isn't any apparent groundwork laid out to sign anyone.

Remy is good signing regardless, around for 10.5mil. Can play centrally or out wide. The deal isn't complete yet.
If it wasn't for his attitude, we prob would have gotten M'Vila over the summer.

Does anyone know if Arsenal did in face put, the fail to make Champions League, player will suffer a wage cut clause in their next contracts? I know if was talked about

Man. Like minds. Arsenal in Europa League. Wow. I would have never in my wildest dreams imagined that. This is what we've fallen to. :{

:lol

There's much more to why Ronaldo is a better player than Messi.

LOL, no. And posting it ad nauseam won't make it come true.

Def deserves it. He's been crucial for la Real, and is in a great run of form.

Speaking of the MexNT, Jon Dos Santos needs to move to a club where he'll get playing time. Based on ability, he should be getting regular call ups at least within a couple years. Just doesn't want to leave Barca right now for whatever reason, and rejected last summer's loan offer.

O classico was entertaining - especially the first half. Some good football, and a stunning goal from Matic. Ended in a 2-2 draw so they're both still unbeaten. Well worth a watch:

Walcott - My exact thoughts as well. Walcott taking free kicks when we have Cazorla, even Podolski. He's riding his wave right now. Big kid on campus, wants to take free kicks, wants to score the winning goal when passing is the better option. I feel after he signs, if he signs, we'll se the last of that. But we all know Wenger, he might even end up giving him the captain armband. :{
Why wasn't there this much effort to keep our other players?!
I feel he wants to be striker because he's lazy, hear me out. When CB's have the ball he doesn't press, he jogs. Giroud, with his "pace" always tries to pressure. Giroud comes on as a sub and has more touches?! Annoyance is an understatement :x

Giroud - I really want him to do well but he annoys me as well with his mistimed jumps and heavy touches. He loses possession way too easily, He really needs to stop these "cute" layoffs, he usually doesn't put enough pace on them, almost lost the ball in our own box. Hard worker though.

Diaby - Misplaced passes, but I admire the spark he brought on and his interceptions brought relief.

Ramsey - Played well, was a bit slow changing direction on the ball, but impressed me when he did, better than turning his back to goal.

Cazorla - a bit absent at times, in the sense that he couldn't play his game, due to red card circumstances. The piece of trickery he did on Silva had me cheesing. :eek

Kos - I like him, but he really pulled a bad one man. Lost the game in first 10 minutes. :{

Merteacker - Smart but Useless! Lmao. As big as he is. Gets bullied on the ball, and weak in the air. can't help but laugh

Wilshere - Best for last, Gritty! Determined! Class! What we need in midfield besides another CM/DM, apparently 30 days is not enough to find an "exceptional player"

Wenger/Board - Man, I'll leave that for another time. Lol.

If Santos was fit, I would have played him as LDM, a little deeper. Him on for Diaby and Wilshere to the right. Win the ball, push forward a bit and pass it off and stay back. The game was lost because there was no plan b. Diaby is a ball winner so I guess that's why AW took the risk. Ramsey isn't the best defender but his work rate is up there.

Jack is a blessing. I always worry he's gonna get hurt again. He was the most fouled player. He needs a day of rest. I mean our main mid, does.

I follow arseblog, arsenal vision, the arsenal report and http://arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/ i follow them on twitter too. But I think it was on Arseblog that said big games that are why Theo can't play CF...or at least not yet because he provides nothing. I agree with you on the lazy part.
I love that Giroud works hard. I forgot which game it was but he was tracking all the way back and winning aerial duels.

This is a great picture

^ Eww (@ ...Liverpool's Suso)

Good matches this weekend unless you're a Liverpool, Arsenal, or Malaga (La Liga) fan.

Saurez was kept quite against Man U....Hated seeing Reina get hurt & scored on like that...Hope he's ok..

Messi went off again..Malaga hung tough in the first half though...

Li Liga fans...How legit do you think Atletico Madrid is?
