The Walking Dead - Official Thread

The show sucks. Has sucked for sometime now. It is bad television. What does that have to do with getting a life or not having one?

If bad writing and poor character development is nitpicking then I don't know what to say.

I feel like dudes want a show like left 4 dead. With dudes every episode running around with fully automatic guns blasting zombies

I just dont get why the show has such a huge following. I like the show, but I know it's not as good as the ratings say.

The show really isn't that great. And I've been following since the beginning. It's just entertaining. And the whole zombie apocalypse thing is whats hot right now. That's what keeps the show's ratings up. The general public just wants to see people kill zombies and/or get eaten by them.

I ***** with Walking Dead but I'm not heavy into it like I was with Breaking Bad. I just wanna see Carl pop everybody and ride of with Beth and Maggie :rollin

The constant complaining with ppl saying the show sucks. It's simple, don't watch it.

If it was killing walkers every episode, dudes would complain how it's too much gore. If not, it's too damn slow.

AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 4 Debut Smashes Records; 16.1M Watch

:x

The zombie apocalypse relentlessly moved upward and took over TV again last night. The Walking Dead returned for its fourth season on Sunday to series record viewership. Airing at 9 PM, the AMC show was watched by 16.1 million with 10.4 million among adults 18-49. The Walking Dead’s Season 3 debut on October 14, 2012 was watched by 10.9 million viewers and 7.3 million in the 18-49 and 25-54 demos. Thought better later in the season, those were records for the show at the time and then the most-watched drama telecast in basic cable history. NBC’s airing of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington ******** game last night was watched by 19.65 million according to fast nationals from Nielsen. However, written by new showrunner Scott Gimple, who took over from the exited Glen Mazzara in January, Sunday’s “30 Days Without An Accident” episode bested the Season 3 finale of the drama that was the cable powerhouse’s previous series high. That March 31st episode was watched by 12.4 million viewers and 8.1 million among the key demo. Before that, the 12.3 million and 6.8 million among adults 18-49 who watched The Walking Dead’s Season 3 mid-cycle premiere on February 11 was the series high for the show that has constantly beat big Big 4 network shows like Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory and NCISin the vital demo. Sunday’s premiere also topped the series high of 10.3 million viewers and 6.7 million in the key demo that Breaking Bad’s heavily promoted and anticipated finale got for AMC on September 29. In metered markets, The Walking Dead got a 7.5/11 last night, way up from the 5.4/8 the series had for its last season opener last October

16 million with a 10.4 in 18-49 my god.. . Is this real life? They this with football on too jesus. I don't even watch the show anymore but those ratings are insane.

Why? The show is not nearly that good.:lol

Mediocre show. Ridiculous ratings. :lol

I hope you didn't watch :rolleyes
:lol

I just dont get why the show has such a huge following. I like the show, but I know it's not as good as the ratings say.:lol

Surprisingly enough i've found that females really like the show. So I guess that boosts their numbers. Usually girls are just into vampires but zombies have been in.

Great first episode. I was grossed out by the Lady walking with Rick through the woods. Looked like she was halfway to becoming a zombie with her greenish/grey complexion.
Im sure someone will smash Beth soon.

I really dont understand the hate for the show. If you dont like it then it isnt for you. Simple as that.

Last season wasn't that great but they already did what they need to do to improve on that by firing and hiring people.

This was the first episode, let it at least build up before you make any judgments on this season.

This is NT, if the season premiere isn't equivalent to Breaking Bad with the high expectation of endless zombies getting killed and a break to get some yambs, the show is not a success.

People thinking this is bad television? Really?

Everyone who watches TWD tv series MUST read the comic.
I don't think it's a must. Season one alone (the best season) is good enough to get people hooked to the show.
The Walking Dead is an American horror drama television series developed by Frank Darabont. It is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

Maybe I need to clarify myself. The comic book storyline compared to the show is different. How? The show took various characters and concepts and added it's own twist from the comic book storyline. For a casual fan who simply enjoys zombies and drama television doesn't necessarily HAVE to go out and read every trade of The Walking Dead to fully understand the show. Is it recommended? Yes, I would recommend someone to go out and read the comic book. But for a casual fan, they don't necessarily have to. The show alone is good enough to understand the story and appreciate for what it is.

No need to get defensive.

I recommend any casual fans that like the show to check out TWD video game by Telltale Games and if you like the game I would recommend reading the comics. After playing the game and starting to read the comics, its getting harder and harder to appreciate the show. The season premiere wasn't bad but the TWD season premieres and season finales always had some sort of bang. Hopefully there are no more luls in the show like last season.

So whats up with the black dude Cutty from the wire and the other chick he was kissing? I though the was married to the black girl
