The Wolf of Wall Street Trailer

I don't know if I read it in here, the movie thread or heard it elsewhere there was the complaint that the movie never showed how Jordan's victims of his evil crimes and while I don't agree with that cuz the movie was not about that I do felt the opportunity was missed when he gave that heartfelt speech to all of the employees then changed his mind and decided to stay, then snitched on them except for his closes friend and they didn't show how those employees reacted to Jordan basically getting them all arrested. I just think that had potential for some hilarious scenes and even heartfelt.

Bale would've been ******g awesome in this but the idea of that doesn't take away from Leo's amazing performance. It wasn't too tame or too over the top, it was just right.

Top 3 movies of all time.

When I saw Leo do that I automatically knew this was legend status :lol :hat

Took me completely off guard. I wonder if the real Jordan got moves like that too.

I don't know about bboying but Leo is a big hip hop fan. He's the one who suggested Thief's Theme in The Departed and got Nas to do the end credits song for Blood Diamond. Him and Q-Tip are also pretty good friends too.

Just fin watching the flick like 5 min ago. I give it a 8/10. Didnt realize it was M. Scorsese til the credits rolled. But it made alot of sense with alot of the elements used, the lense and the way it was filmed, and the monologues that acknowledge the story telling. More comedy here than I expected. Pretty good.

Am i the only one that really didn't like this movie? It was way OD over the top for me. Just seemed loud and a lot of unecessary noise. Maybe I set my expectations wrong because I never watched the trailer. These sort of stories are more interesting to me than the scenes of partying. I can watch scenes of partying/over the top nonsense in any which way. I was expecting a bit more Glen Gary Glen Ross/Boiler Room type of movie. Those had great great great dialogue. This just made getting wealthy seem like it was just a personality thing..i like seeing the true genius of manipulation behind it. Seemed a bit copied from those movies actually (e.g., the phone call scene when he starts working at that penny stock place).

Boiler room was partially inspired Belfort and his firm so that's why there's similarities.

There was great dialogue I thought. His speeches were boss and the boat scene with the FBI agent was money

just don't get why people want a movie like boiler room when it already exists

why do it the same?
