Team ALA was getting ready to pop bottles and celebrate after the 1st half and mid way through the 4th when the Grizz made that run and went up by 5 lol

You didn't give one reason why the Rockets are better. Just say you hope they're better come may.

The Rockets got smacked by the Heat, allowed 123 to a trash team, 158 to another, lead by a superstar that chokes, another superstar that's shooting 41/22/68% for the season.
I don't think the things the Lakers excel at (mostly interior defense) really effect Houston (or the Clippers) all that much. As they have in the past, I think the Rockets can just score pretty much at will, and their defense hasn't been all that bad as of late. As long as Houston has been relatively healthy, they have been a regular season machine. Really don't think things are going to much different this year, despite their start.

It's early though. If you want to say the Lakers are better in your opinion, that's fine. Just giving you my opinion. Wish they played each other sooner than January 18th.

What makes you think the Rockets are gonna get better on defense?

And what about Russ shooting? Their second option is a terrible shooter.

They are 5th in the league in Defensive Rating over the last 10 games. Lakers 12th.

Russ is an issue. Especially against teams like the Clippers who can really lock down defensively on the perimeter. For now, in the REGULAR SEASON, I am willing to bet on what Harden can do with the team.

Russ shooting has been a issue the last 3 years in the regular season and playoffs :lol but aight top 2 team.

Still a lot to prove for LAL. They were held to less than a point per possession against Utah without Bojan (and it was only the second game of the season). They were down by 20 or so against Dallas. Not going to hold losing against LAC against them since it was the first game of the year, but they didn't have Black Paul

If they excel against the other west playoff teams, cool. But right now there's not enough evidence to suggest exactly how they'd fare in a series against the west's best

I completely agree with this, and feel like it's fair, but I assume it will be labeled as "hating" and "biased".

Biggest concerns are Ingles and everyone outside of the starters. Their starting lineup has very solid numbers on offense and defense

Other than that I believe they will be a formidable playoff team

I like how well Jeff green and mudiay are playing.Tony Bradley has really impressed me too.

It sucks that Conley has been inconsistent and the trade for him took away most of Utah’s depth. But yea, I agree with everything you’re saying

Yea this is why SOS is trash. Home and home series (OKC) are tough. Back to back road games are tough. Memphis played Houston without JJJ and ja on minutes restriction and the grizz missed wide open threes all nite, Houston looked terrible and barely won. Lakers play them on a road back to back without their best perimeter defenders and the grizz can't miss from 3. It's good to use your own judgement to determine the quality of wins and losses

More interested in how the supposed good west playoff teams fare against one another

For LAL December will be a nice barometer. Denver, healthy Utah, MIL (not west but still), LAC and Dallas twice with Minny and Portland sprinkled in. Hopefully none of the main guys miss these matchups

I mean all ya'll 2 have said is the Lakers have played a weak schedule. That's not really a good argument compared to the Rockets who are flawed as hell. People keep bringing up the Clippers loss yet we should forget the Rockets getting stomped by the Heat and giving up 158 to the Wizards and again Russ ain't gonna flip some switch and turn into a good shooter.

The rockets team after the heat lost is a different team. Cleaned up the switching and rotation. Plus they actually try. You can see who actually watches the games

Lakers have a road back to back in Denver/Utah. That's TOUGH. Boston lost to Denver at the end of a 5 game trip. That doesn't really tell you anything. There's too much nuance involved to just look at it in black and white
