Well, they do have a luxury to get creative, to be honest.
Let's say Portland vs. SA, and NO vs. SAC in a winner advance mini-tourney, just to give those teams close to # 8 still a chance. Then again for the winners of each. After that, the last standing of the 4 plays Memphis for the 8th seed in a 3-game series. The length of series is fluid based on how quickly or long it takes to resume.
The rest of the teams play "official scrimmages" against geographically compatible teams to sharpen up...By the time the mini-tourney is done, they'll have a few games in and we start the playoffs.
