I'd have to say so tbh, he was the most dominant player in the country that year on the best team

Dude really averaged a double double and 5 blocks a game , there's a reason Coach K decided to bring him on to the Olympic squad at 18

Zion had better numbers across the board minus the shot blocking.
I’m just here for the argument because everyone is dismissing the god Zion.

Anthony Davis had a better individual college season than Zion?

news to me

This whole tournament was a mess. Based on natural bias, it’s entirely too difficult to judge players in the vacuum of just their college resumes when there is evidence beyond that suggesting how talented they truly are at basketball. That (likely along with the Last Dance docuseries dropping soon) is why MJ won.

I had a friend this morning say MJ isn’t even the best best player in UNC history. He claims that title belongs to Psycho T. He also said Jalen Brunson is the best college PG of all-time ahead of Jay Williams. Looking at who is the best in college doesn’t do too much from a pure basketball talent perspective.

Anyone still trying to convince folks the Gobert is an idiot..
Anyone still pushing the narrative that Gobert is an idiot....
Anyone still giving Gobert that Bad Energy.....

Everyone of those Anyone’s should be forced to give a written and publicly spoken apology to the God....
I hate Utah and I am a Kanter > Gobert dude but I bought a Gobert jersey off the rip this ***** saved countless lives. He might have saved America. Somebody that YOU KNOW, that I KNOW, had their life spared by Gobert.
The way we/he got there matters none, this man deserves a Noble Peace prize, he deserves his own Day/Holiday on the American AND French Calendar.
That man deserves the World.
What’s that award that like a Military award for Civilians, that ***** needs one of those.
Yea the GEROGE CROSS.

If it werent for Gobert, who knows how much longer a Trumped America would have carried on.
This man is a Knight, somebody Knight his ***.
Give this ***** Saint Hood while you’re at it.
They say you need 3 miracles to become a Saint? Well then, Saint this *****.
Yea, that croissant eating *** ***** is a Hero.
Recognize the GOD.

Imagine defending Hoebert. Who knows how many people have died indirectly from his stupid behavior.

No one is being dismissive when 'one gotta go'.

Or... you're dismissing Eyebrow, a player who dominated on his team's path to a title.

eye’m not dismissing AD’s defensive impact but eye remember him having 2 single digit scoring games in the tournament.

Zion couldn’t afford to go 1-10

Who is making an argument for someone else? Bill Walton is the only player I can think of that is close, but he’s always said Kareem was better. Pretty sure he’s said Kareem is the best player ever in general.

FWIW, Walton was 88-4 in 3 years, 3x Naismith, 2x Champ, 2x MOP.

Rodman without a shadow of a doubt. :smh: :smh: :smh:

Interesting. My initial reaction was Ben Wallace by a mile. Maybe because I just finished watching the Pistons/Lakers and Pistons/Spurs finals. Speaking of which, Duncan going 10-27 with 5 turnovers in Game 6 doesn't get brought up enough.

Interested in his argument.

What was his reasoning.
1. His accolades

2. His team accolades. He mentioned Isiah and his title and Final Four MVP but stated “Brunson has two titles, which very very few college players can claim. The conference player of the year awards and bob cousy awards weren’t given until after Isiah was in the NBA. But Isiah never won Naismith player of year award, which was given to Ralph Sampson in ‘81, Isiah’s best year.

Here are Jalen Brunson’s numbers

On ESPN yesterday Shaq was smashing Kareem in the voter poll for who was a better college player.
I couldn't believe it for a second then I realized people generally don't know jack ****.

In a vacuum, without context and nuance, I could easily see why someone would say Jalen Brunson is one of the greatest college point guards of all time.

If I took Maggie Simpson, and gave her everyone's portfolio, I am sure she might even come to that conclusion as well.

But for us that lived THROUGH the eras, we know it isn't as simple as looking at stats/awards.

Jay Williams was a DOMINANT force on the college level. Jalen Brunson was a very good college basketball PG in an era in which the best players aren't staying in the college game.

His argument lacks nuance.

May I ask what your age is? I don't mean any disrespects by this. It just might shed light as to why you would pick Ben Wallace.

Jay Williams was 100% better than Brunson. Just missing that 2nd championship.

Turned 38 last week. Maybe if I were younger I would have picked Rodman.
Interesting.

I would expect an older person to pick ROdman, seeing as though you were able to experience him in his DET days, where he guarded positions 2-4 on the regular.

Not to mention what he did with the Bulls.

Again, I mean no disrespect by these comments but I personally don't think Ben Wallace is on Rodman's level due to Rodman's versatility on that side of the ball.

I just turned 30 about 2 months ago and I'm going Rodman no question, coming from someone that rocked a Ben Wallace jersey frequently and tried to mimic his shot blocking and tenacity when I was a kid-high school.
