It just shows how much people are in awe by popularity voting MJ the best college player. Kareem was by far a better college player. Magic was better, Bird was better, Bill Walton, Grant Hill, Len Bias, Danny Manning was better.
Most old heads I've seen don't even think he was the best player on that title squad

Definitely ended up as a popularity contest like most fan voting

@dcallamerican is this guy old enough to make these claims? ID him at the door.

Most of them people probably ain't old enough to have watched Jordan on the Bulls let alone at NC.

Recency bias sums up the results.

Nothing further.

Understandable. Not upsetting

That's more than recency bias.

It's just laziness and a total lack of knowledge on college basketball. It ain't impossible to do simple research.

Anthony Davis was looked at as a game changing defensive player and a little raw offensively coming out of college. He was so damn good defensively during college but of course having the most athletic team helped but teams just couldn’t score inside against him .

The old heads are forever loyal to their favorite players. Uncle swears up and down nobody today comes close to Kareem and how dominant he was. How Earl the Pearl would wash anyone today too.

In 25 years when there's gonna be 5 KDs on the court on the same time, we'll be telling our kids kids how the first KD would wash all of them.

Dude is easily the most unstoppable defensive force I can remember at that level, had the paint locked down with yellow tape that year

AD was getting Bill Russell comps from older heads back at UK. I know addict4sneakers addict4sneakers thinks that is the equivalent of DeAndre Jordan though.

Just hard to compare AD and Zion on a college level given they had different roles. Zion had much more usage, AD was a far superior defender even though Zion was solid.

I was short changing AD when I was comparing him to a Joakim (defense) and Bosh (offense) hybrid.

My pops is as older than Jordan but said that players today are much better .

The only thing said that was harder was bringing down the ball against pressure defense .

AD turning into a generational talent as a big still is crazy to me when I remember him being the consensus top guard prospect in HS before he hit that insane growth spurt  :wow:

Dude had all the ball handling skills of an elite playmaker and ended up damn near 7 feet by the time he committed to UK

On Undisputed Skip said Jordan is the GOAT college player and used it as a reason to slight LeBron. I was

Not according to some. I believe it was storm2006 storm2006 who said he was talking to someone who proclaimed Psycho T the greatest Tar Heel hooper.

Imma go George Lynch.

That was a friend's opinion but not MINE. Here are Psycho T's accolades and numbers below

Hansbrough was the first player in ACC history to earn first-team All-America and first-team All-ACC honors in each of his four seasons.[17][18] He finished his career with a league-record 2,872 points and a school-record 1,219 rebounds to go with the NCAA record of 982 made free throws.[19] While attending North Carolina, Hansbrough was given the nickname "Psycho T" due to his size and aggressive play style, as well as his off the court personality.[20]

In 2008, Hansbrough swept all major individual honors in men's college basketball. For a North Carolina men's player to be eligible to have his jersey retired, he must win at least one of six national player of the year awards: Associated Press, U.S. Basketball Writers Association, National Association of Basketball Coaches, Sporting News, Naismith, and Wooden. Since Hansbrough won all six,[21] he had his number 50 retired during half time against Duke on February 10, 2010.[19]

Again this a friend's opinion, NOT mine in which case you can feel free to @ me.

Skip's definitely gonna retire the moment Bron does

Damn near single handedly made his latter stage career

I agree with this. Overall talent on the floor is better. I'd say today we have dumber players though. Fundamentals are down, but overall talent is up.

Bronny will be in the league by then. I've already seen people on here and twitter hating on Bronny because he's his father's son. Bron haters will have another person to aim their anger at for (hopefully) 10+ years.

Off ball movement and help defense back then was bad. Players didn’t know how to take care of there body’s as well

I don’t think it is an unreasonable opinion at all. Hansbrough had a hell of a college career.

I don't either, I'm just clearing the air in case someone takes issue to that proclamation. I am not wedded to any opinion on this matter.
