I didn’t see it mentioned in here but the backstory on the “Be Like Mike” jingle is wild.

Apparently Gatorade was trying to get a Jungle Book song from Disney to use and couldn’t come to agreement on the money but Gatorade had already purchased the ad space. So an ad agency came up with the “Be Like Mike” jingle in like 15 minutes the day before the ad was set to air.....turns out it was the same crew who did the “I’m Lovin It” years later :lol

Imagine a Bulls v. Rockets series. Probably would've happened if MJ didnt decide to be a weirdo.

Ahmad Rashad's groomsmen... :wow:

My thought is you must be Old enough to remember Dan play and that he must’ve carved up your Team on a couple of occasions or something...

If you think Dan deserves to never be mentioned ever, please stay out Of Scottsdale and Phoenix AZ :lol
The man is a GOD there

Lmao at charles smith trending on Twitter. Got all of NY mad af right now

I saw that game live on NBC, and the funniest part to me wasn’t he kept getting stripped/missing/choking, it was Marv’s commentary as it was happening, I still laugh my *** off everytime I hear it.

I’m sorry, but supplanting this current era of “wokeism” back to the late 80s/90s is nonsense. That was when so called black men were really starting to be accepted in as major corporate assets, and set the foundation for current athletes to have all of this guaranteed money coming in. I think it’s better to see the big picture and understand that It’s a process.

You can’t blame the 3rd floor for not being the 5th floor when the 5th floor can’t happen without the 3rd floor playing its role.
my .02

There were definitely woke black people in that era. You think MJ was thinking about other athletes?
Him remaining quiet had more to do with his pocketbook vs him thinking about the future.
It's been 30 years and he's had plenty of opportunities to speak out since then.
He has every right to be apolitical, but don't try to mask his disinterest as a sign of the times.
Hell, his teammate was Craig Hodges.

He’s definitely spoken out more over the past 5 yrs or so

He also opened up that hospital recently in NC for The underprivileged

Hear me out and take my opinion with a grain of salt because I am a 44 year old white man, but I think MJ realized a long time ago he was in a long game in terms of his power and influence.

He’s gotten more vocal politically as he’s amassed more wealth and power. Right or wrong, an actual billionaire and team owner speaking on something is going to have more about impact than just an athlete.
