Hear me out and take my opinion with a grain of salt because I am a 44 year old white man, but I think MJ realized a long time ago he was in a long game in terms of his power and influence.

He’s gotten more vocal politically as he’s amassed more wealth and power. Right or wrong, an actual billionaire and team owner speaking on something is going to have more about impact than just an athlete.
Nah.

Respectfully.

Wait hold up
You white?

Great episodes, one thing MJ should know, never gamble with anyone known Slim, money def getting took.

He’s definitely spoken out more over the past 5 yrs or so

He also opened up that hospital recently in NC for The underprivileged

Thats cool. I respect it either way.
Him building hospitals and doing philanthropy isn’t going to ruffle any feathers though.
We’ve yet to see him take a hard political stance on polarizing issues.
The policy brutality issue is the only one I can think off the top of my head.
Either way, that's his choice and that's fine. He has every right to stay silent.

EDIT- MAGA folks having a MJ love fest on twitter for staying silent. :smh:

Mike fell short, in the mid 90s with politics. For sure. I think in hindsight, he can see it. He ain’t rise to the occasion or follow tradition as being one of the ones (there is a black comfortability, detachment, surface level acceptance of white society and lull you to sleep game....that Mike & OJ....and other successful black people were under at the time...Ceime Bill we criticize now...was bipartisan and got major support from Black leaders etc. Its some more ****, I’d touch on with politics, race, sports etc....at another time. But it’s complex and a thing.

Mike understood it better than OJ tho....but it was a thing in the late 80s/90s). It’s a fair criticism of him Tho. He ain’t step up. Yo far from perfect.

That said....he’s done a lot of good, too. And from another brother to another....I think it’s clear how he rocking. He wanna see black folks win. He got blind spots, is selfish, a borderline degenerate and some other ****....but in the course of progress and specifically black progress...I think he on the right side of history.

MJ in the 4.6 Cherry Red Range tho, what’s the difference between 4.0 & 4.6.....

Small critique, This doc really should of just been called 90’s bulls since they pretty much going in order

Also few times they would talk about one season and show highlights from a different season just based on kicks Mike had.

other than that, this is excellent

Another thing that I myself have been guilty of is that I'm always looking for rappers and athletes to insert themselves into these kinds of things. They don't have to and they shouldn't be looked at sideways if they choose not to.

Def shouldn’t. But a guy with that platform at that time....with what we been through....can’t duck when called upon, at that time. Mike missed it with that one.

I know we ain’t a monolith...but we striving for something bigger. And at certain times...he sat it out. Of course, he came through on others, that for some reason.....are downplayed and forgotten.. But I recognize it for what it is. He could’ve been a lot better in that regard. Comes with the territory. You reap the benefits...there has to be some kind of give back. It’s natural.

Every Monday morning they've had "star" guests on interview shows just to talk about the eps

Bro....they had Isiah Thomas on Get Up and First Take Monday/Tuesday and then used IT/Dream Team as a discussion topic Wednesday thru Friday. I’m expecting them to juice Magic the same way. I hope he drops some classic quotes and gifs.

Where hov at? Where Kanye at? He said he made Jordans hot lol.

Nas>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hopefully no drake in this doc. Or Khalid.

Needed more Kobe. Was misleading. Expected half Kobe episode

Felt the same about nas growing up. He’s an iverson/ d rose kinda legend
