Because nobody rightfully claimed the Warriors path was “brutal”. My manstorm2006 said the Lakers path this year was brutal. I disagreed. Tough, but nothing I haven’t seen a 1 seed go through in the west before.
You the one bringing up the Warriors for no reason at all.
But you cook.
And my distinction as brutal isn’t based on the Blazers or Rockets being some never before seen 8 or 4/5 seeded teams. The Bubble Lakers personnel and their current level of play indicate to me that those would be challenging matchups for them.
IMO it’s moreso about how bad the Lakers look as opposed to how strong their competition is. They would have to rank pretty low amongst the WC 1 seeds over the past 12 years but that’s also a messy debate

Where is this overwhelming confidence coming from? I know "it's only four games" but it's not like this is the beginning of the season and the team has time to figure things out. The playoffs are in 10 days and the Lakers play has been dreadful.
Right now, the Lakers are banking on Bron activating Playoff Mode and AD continuing to play like a Top 5 player in the postseason. Even with that, they're still going to need the supporting cast to step up every night.

Yeah I don't really like the Lakers at all but the Portland narrative is kind getting out of hand. Dame is my favorite player outside of Oklahoma City(and Russ of course) but they aren't going to beat the Lakers in a 7 game series.

To be fair, he’s been perfectly fine next to Embiid (which will be his role now as a starter). Horford/Embiid works, Simmons/Horford/Embiid DOES NOT work since Al is basically forced to be a SG in those scenarios
