Just wondering what are some things to do. I might be going there next year to go see the Lions play, maybe try and catch a piston games just because.

MGMGrand, Motor City, FOX theater, if you have a passport you can go to Windsor which is across the water.

Amongst other things.

Just stay downtown.....after you leave the lions game you can go to one of three great casinos, visit greektown for some food, and (if the weather permits) you can go to the riverwalk....its plenty to do, now I'll let the people that don't live/never been here talk

The number one thing that you need to do, is make sure that you get some "Good" Coney Island.

Also go to Sommerset Mall if you can.  It's about 20 minutes outside of the city in "Troy"

That would be the only time you need to leave downtown....I mean you can go to layfeyette Coney but you GOTTA go to the belly of the beast for some great ccf

I was there in September, I only drove through the downtown area so I'm only speaking of that area, but there wasn't much to do and it felt like a ghost town. I went inside the GM Renaissance Center and also checked out Windsor (they have a Caesars Palace there). When you're in the GM Center, maybe I went in at a bad time (since it was on an afternoon), but there really wasn't anyone inside and it felt empty and just nothing at all.

And I heard downtown Detroit is the "good" part, so if that's the case then...
