Thoughts on the Johnathon Martin - Ritchie Incognito situation?

Like Cold said, Martin could've came back with AK/SK/HK or whatever other GTA 5 weapon he could get his hands on and sprayed the entire locker room up. It's already been stated dude has been struggling with emotional, mental, and suicidal issues.

He get labeled as a punk & less of a man for reporting what was going on or he gets labeled as a mental case if he took matters into his own hands.

Dude probably felt like he was in a lose-lose situation. Thank God he chose the "wuss" route or those same people would be saying "why didn't he seek professional help or tell the coaching staff?"

Incognito is completely at fault..........but I also find some fault in the way Martin handled things to an extent.

Why didnt Martin stand up for himself? way i was raised if you talk **** and try to bully you better be prepared to throw down. this aint no linemen bullying a kicker situation either these are 2 big dudes. aint no OC or line coach going to want this dude on his line.

Didn't snitch or leak to a reporter. Was even hesitant to implicate Incognito after the story broke.

Never assaulted or physically confronted anyone. Never harmed anyone in the process.

He withdrew himself from a negative situation. Escaped the bullying.

depends on the team.    the 90's cowboys used to have inside problems, guys fighting and what have you all the time. hell michael irvin even cut some dudes neck with a pair of scisiors or something of that nature.     it's not uncommon for teammates to get into it.  

this whole situation should've been handled completely in house though.    if it was really as bad as their making it out to be and other players coaches knew then that falls on them almost as much as incognito.  if it was really that bad, someone should've spoke out and handled the situation and kept it in house.

its 31 other teams in the nfl and i doubt all of them are peaceful happy families. stuff goes on more then we would think it does, but most the time it's handled internally.   coaches and whatever leadership or lack of leadership this team has completely dropped the ball.

I fault Martin for giving up $15,000 to Incognito or whatever other crazy amount that was given on Martin's behalf if the allegations in this story are true.  I think we all can agree that $15K is an absurd amount to be given from one player to another.  That's beyond what most would call hazing, and probably passed the point of bullying.  That's just another man get punked to the point where Martin should be ashamed of himself as a grown man for it to even have gotten to that point.

I don't find fault in Martin for expressing his concern to the team, for not dropping info. to news outlet or anything of that matter.  However, as a man you have to stand up for yourself in life, otherwise folks are just going to walk over you in life like a doormat, and that's exactly what happened to Martin apparently.  Also, I've never been in favor of someone just walking away from something that they true love or they enjoy doing, I just see that as being a quitter.  If Martin loved playing football, (key word "if") then to me he shouldn't have just walked away and let Incognito get the best of him.  Now's Martin is out of a job and out of a paycheck.  Now Martin's livelihood isn't the same anymore.

Regardless of who's right/wrong in this incident...I'm not sure how he can live this down. What opposing player isn't going to think they can EASILY get in his head and rattle him after this?

But according to a team source and a source close to the player, it was communicated to the Dolphins that Martin wasn't angry or dispirited over the deal.

The lunch-room prank that apparently sent Martin over the edge involved the offensive linemen, who would stand up and leave the table after the last one arrived with his food, leaving that person by himself. Multiple team sources characterized the prank as being fairly ordinary among the O-linemen. In fact, one source said Martin was part of the same prank when some players played it on guard Nate Garner one week earlier. Another source said Martin's O-line mates weren't aware of his previous problems or that he'd met with Philbin, which led those players to believe nothing was wrong.

Doesnt seem like he's as mentally broke as some may assumed.
