Don't worry man just stay positive and start looking into the disease, and it's treatment options.

Yes, 22 is very young. But, leukemias and lymphomas are cancers that have been shown to have higher incident rates in the young compared to other cancers, which usually are diseases of the old.

Just wait for the biopsy results and until then you can do your own research on the disease.

He didn't tell you any other info? I mean I guess you will have to wait until the biopsy and blood results, but if you can provide any other info that would be helpful to us so that we can try to give you advice.

The PET scan will provide them with a lot of useful information about the exact diagnosis. Providing them with images, structural information, stage, and the tumor's affects on near by tissues. It will also be used to assess if you have any other solid tumors in your body. Since it is a lymphoma, static lymphoid tumors can metastasize and arise throughout the body, from circulating cancerous blood cells. So this will be a good diagnostic tool for them to do on you.

Do you mean test for HIV with the blood work? They will also assess other information from the blood work too, about the cancer, etc...

Keep your head up man. Things will turn out for the best.

real life...they checked me for hiv because some people get it from thatand other stds just in case i have to go through chemo...
Yes, that is true. They have found an association of HIV with lymphoma, but it's nothing to worry about. Just procedure now since they have seen increased incidences in individuals with HIV. I was just making sure cause you had typed hive instead of HIV.

Speaking of chemo- certain lymphomas are highly responsive to chemotherapy due to their super rapid growth, and also certain ones can be treated really successfully. So that's good news.

I added these edits to my last post, which you have quoted.

Edit: When I say throughout the body I mean they usually stay in the lymphatic tissues, so like at a lymph node in your lung may be and it might spread to another connecting node. Metastasis might be the wrong term for me to use. Trying to clarify so that you wont worry. Cause you shouldn't. If anything that information is actually a good thing.

Edit: I can't really comment on anything further without knowing more information.

Edit: I'll try to clarify things for you if you don't understand what the doc is saying, and I will give you advice when it comes to possible treatment options, but I will NOT comment on anything related to a prognosis, or anything remotely related.

At least they caught it sooner than later. Your chances are a lot higher.

Good $#@% OP, best of luck on the op.

Stay positive
Keep your loved ones close and make sure you express your emotions

If you cry make sure its on someone's shoulder because its better to get it out

You will beat this.

I don't know you OP but I will pray for you. God Bless

Stay up. My best friend had it when we were in elementary school and he was sick for about a year. Then he was all good and earlier this year they thought they found it again. I had never felt so bad in my life. Thankfully he didn't have it and it was just phlegm buildup from strep. Keep your head up and you'll beat it.

Damn. I've been thinking about you all day. Not at all what I was hoping to read. Stay positive OP you'll beat this!

you make it through this and i'll buy you your EDC ticket, just stay positive.

Thousands of people beat cancer everyday, and you'll be one of them as well. Best of luck and stay strong even when days are tough. I know you are going to beat this.

Serious Advice. Go to Canada. Stay for a few days and then admit yourself to the hospital. Universal healthcare for the win.

Good luck man.  This is one of the more curable forms from what I understand.  Two friends I knew in college that I played ball with were both diagnosed with lymphoma - both of them went into remission and they're doing great.  So the odds are in your favor imo!
