or Sally Draper

from Mad Men. You could go in one of two directions with either (or both) one of these characters. You could use Dawn to further explore race relations in corporate America and the women's liberation movement in the 1970's or you could use Sally as a vessel to explore the transition of Baby Boomers in the 1970's from teenagers to adults.
