SMS is working but I can't send or receive MMS on my s4. Cleared cache, data and even rebooted and all nothing, smh

Was using textra and just installed the new hangout app. Should I uninstall textra?

Textra and MMS sometimes do not get along.. In the past I've had troubles with Textra.
Now with the new Hangouts I've had troubles sending MMS and no troubles receiving it. Anytime I send one it would force close the app.. as of right now I'm using 8sms until the official Hangout hits the playstore.

New as in you downloaded the apk online? If so that is the problem. A lot of the newer stuff unofficially released are having problems including the hangouts app and whatever else

I'm really hoping my Diztronic case or back-up case and Steinhill screen protector (until Clarivue makes one) comes too. I'm paranoid about using a phone without them...

Never saw the point of a screen protector. I've had my GNEX for 2 years now and I don't have a single scratch on the screen. Feels soooo much better than touching those screen protectors. I'm sure they're improved Gorilla Glass, but I'm pretty sure it's not the big scratches you need to worry about.. like they're always test scratching keys on screens. But it's the things like sand and smaller, harder particles that will scratch up a screen.

Nope...I definitely have a case on the phone. And a screen protector won't protect you from cracking the screen. A drop is a drop and if the screen flexes it will crack, regardless of what protector you have on it. I just have my phone with the screeen facing my thigh in my pocket. Never got a scratch in two years? I'm the luckiest man on the planet? Plus I'd rather have a couple superficial scratches that you can't see when the phone is on if it means I can touch the actual glass instead of that stupid screen protector, and actually see the hd screen without the visual noise that the screen protector creates. Try it for a month I bet you never go back. But I wouldn't recommend not having a case. Phones are slippery without the case. If the phone drops, a case is good to have. If screen protectors actually shatter proofed the screen I'd be down. But from what I've seen from others is that the screen shatters just as easy with the protector on. So I'm dealing with that nonsense just for scratches that don't even happen on modern screens? Eff that.Sounds like a member of Team Raw

I've never had a screen protector in my life. Only screen I ever scratched was the g1. Just have a phone only pocket. I've shattered 20 but screen protectors aren't helping that anyways.

Textra was fine for me. The issue was with using Hangouts to send/receive mms. I was wondering if for some reason I should remove the Textra app incase it was conflicting with Hangouts somehow. I see it automatically took over being the primary messaging app upon install. Don't even get the 2nd copy in other apps lol
Also you guys with it working... You make sure to try with an actual number and not a Gmail account? I can pic message all day to my original hangout friends, but it is when I message or receive from someone not through email chat but their phone number I have issues.
