Fellow Gnex users, @fraij da 5 11

is having trouble with his Gnex. It's rooted running CM. It can recieve texts but can't send them. Any suggestions?

Did he check his carrier settings?
@Mark Antony
Explain what you mean here...

I got the phone yesterday, threw in my sim card and fired it up... Texts were working for a little while but at like 8pm all my texts immediately started popping up with error message within 2 seconds of hitting send...

Not sure what I should do exactly but Ill have to play with it tonight.

Your phone's apn settings depending on your carrier. Who's service do you have?

Does anyone have the new Pandora with unlimited skips or just 4.5.1?

Man.....F Pandora.....I just downloaded and pay for Rhapsody. can DL and listen to whatever i want, whenever i want instead of dealing with skipping songs.

I swear, every time someone asks me about it and they end up trying Rhapsody, they never go back, lol.

Hmmm, not sure what verizon's settings are or the nexus 5 so it may be different, but I found this in regards to mms not sending, it may help:

1-Open the Settings
2-Select Wireless & networks
3-Select Mobile Networks
4-Select Access Point Names.
5-Tap the three dots at the bottom right and select New APN

Enter The Following information

Name Verizon
APN internet or vzwinternet
Proxy blank
Port blank
Username blank
Password blank
Server leave it blank
MMSC http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy
MMS Port 80
MCC 310
MNC 012
Authentication type not set
APN Type internet + mms

That's it, worked for me, sending mms ok. Alternatively this can be added and enabled via apn manager pro, but it has to be set as a system app to work

Haha, yea man.....Its been awhile, lol.

Its $9.99 a month for one device and $15 for like 3 devices.....me and 2 other co-workers pay $5 a piece. (although only one device can stream at a time, you can download and listen to anything you`ve downloaded even when somebody is streaming)

Only a few things here and there that i havent been able to find...........Only one aaliyah album is on there and i cant find allot of the old no limit albums from the not so famous artists like Mac, Magic and Soulja slim. Ive found pretty much everything else.

The news on the N5 battery is troubling, but not deal breaking for me. Looks like I'll be getting an extended battery for mine

Link to where you found that? Doesn't seem like I have the options to do that stuff on the gnex.

I get my courtesy upgrade (for real this time -____-) this week and I'm trying to decide on either the S4, N2 or G2.

Dat 5" screen life looks so fun

If it were up to me and had to decide between those 3.. I'm liking the G2 as the days go on.. but would take the moto x over all of them

but it only has a 4.7" or some ****

Possibly new Phone time. Thoughts? Sprint customer.

Options:
Keep Galaxy Note 2? Rooted and laced with Cifs access, plex, xbmc, emulators, foldersync, voip calling, coachpotato/sickbeard etc.

OR

Pickup a Note 3(I heard there are issues with voice calling on Sprint?)

LG G2 on Sprint(main flaw is that its ugly imo)

Nexus 5 (too small? too slow? benchies dont seem that great)

Thoughts? Should I just stand pat with my current device or step it up into a snapdragon?

 @ N5 Too slow?

I've owned a lot of the newer high end phones and it gets through task smoother and faster than all of them in real world use.

But it all comes down to what you want to do on your phone.. if you're a flashaholic like myself a N3 is out of question because there is 0 development going on.. at least on the AT&T side. The G2 is doing better than the N3 in terms of development.. it isn't saying much but at least there is some activity.. if it gets rolling and more developers back it it can be a really awesome phone.. with the N5 you'll see a flood of roms/kernals and everything else in like a month

Now if you're not and save a lot of music/pictures/videos on your phone the Note is probably your best bet.. you're used to the massive screen coming for the 2. It has expandable storage and the biggest screen for entertainment purposes.

If you want to keep it stock the N5 is probably not for you.. the G2 is a better fit for ya or the N3

you could go nexus 5, but id read about all these phones personally. nexus 5 apparently has a speaker problem. and the battery life has been inconsistent it seems. still got great reviews, and hard to beat at 400 for 32gb unlocked. also ive read kit kat is fast from multiple reviews, where u gettin slow from? id wait to see if this phone can get its problems worked out with software patch...

on the other hand the G2 is not nice looking as the 5 imo, but i read the battery is beastly. also you'd have to get used to the buttons being in the back n ****. and the plastic i read is cheap as ****..

i don't like any samsung phones i think they all are overrated iphone ripoffs, poorly engineered, and touchwiz is hot trash. also, if u have a note 2, why the hell would u consider a note 3, its like going from 5 to 5s. you ain't gonna run battlefield 4 on ur phone, its not worth upgrade.

personally id go moto x. srs. it'll already get 4.4 soon, and doesn't have a audio problem, feels great in one hand but still has a 4.7 screen. it doesn't lag at all and battery is very solid as well. plus if u plan on staying on sprint expect to pay 50-100 cash for customized one starting monday (last i read). if not the X, stay on wat u got, but throw on a fresh 4.3 or 4.4 rom.

Based on benchies. Same processor, the G2 gets twice the quadrant scores. The Nexus 5 also doesn't have MHL, so you have to have a dlna capable TV or server to view content(which I do, but where I visit they may not)

Also, I dont do stock, I customize just wondering if anyone was in my shoes would they take the time to reconfigure everything on this new device vs. the older but still good? Galaxy Note 2

I'll say it again.. benches don't mean much in real world use.

For example here's a guy on XDA who has like a thousand post in the G2 section praising it before he got his N5 in the mail. Here is his post in the N5 section after playing with his N5

I just received my nexus 5 about an hour ago and I also have the G2. I prefer the nexus 5 already. Its so smooth and fast compared to the G2 its not even funny. My mind was pretty much set on the G2 because of its insane battery life and its also fast but this nexus 5 is so incredible. I cannot emphasize how much in in love with the speed of that thing. It's so smooth. It's funny cause I never been a fan of such android but this is just too good. Gonna put my G2 for sale on Swappa. Love the nexus 5 and can't wait for the development.

Here's another from a Note owner
Today I sat down and began going through all of my apps and widgets on the Note II saving the configurations and data (with a little help from Titanium). After one day of using the N5, I can't help but get frustrated while trying to use my Note II. I distinctly remember it being the fastest phone I ever thought anyone could produce. I know the app transitions were so sleek and swift that I was blown away when I started using it. Now, my Nexus 5 has completely ruined me. It's amazing, and I'll never be able to use another phone from last generation without getting red in the face.
Take them how you will.. but what I'm saying it benches don't mean much when it comes to how you use your phone on a day to day basis
I don't know about you guys but I prefer the nexus 5 over the G2 already. There's a noticeably difference in terms of performance between the two. Scrolling in tapatalk which usually lags a lot on every android device is butter on the nexus 5, web browsing is lightning fast, screen is super responsive, display is MUCH brighter. But I'm amazed by the performance of this thing, it's night and day vs the G2 in my opinion.

Software as well. Doesn't that matter? Like, the N5 doesn't have to push around much software that is why it is faster at a lower score.
