Just know that the HTC one m7 (and m camera sucks. If you can live with that, everything else is fine.

And i personally never cared for messengers. I text when I text. I'm not into 20 minute convos thru text do I don't need em. I need my phone to have that top of the line hardware, design, and a handful of apps I actually use. That's about it

Those cameras don't suck. they're certainly never going to beat a Nokia device, or a Canon camera, but they're decent.

A housing swap isn't ideal, just cause I'm not sure if there are any internal differences between the special color M7s and the regular ones, which might make it more difficult.

It might be a good backup phone though. $100 isn't bad for a M7 at all. Just make sure its not stolen. (Ask the seller to meet at a store and verify there)

I use Airdroid to text from my computer. I use GroupMe for my main group chat even though I have no issues with textra

Pictures are small overall. Zero detail when you look at pics anywhere but in your phone. Not to mention physical issues like the also notorious pink /purple hue

I see what you're saying with I can only message other iMessage clients, but it doesn't help that 90% of my contacts use iMessage. It all depends on the user. However for me iMessages isn't a good enough reason for me to go to Apple.

That's prolly why i passed on da M7/M8. That camera is basura.

Nothing is ever perfect with these phones. SOMETHING always has to be off

That was manufacturing error, not a fault of the camera or any of the actual components. You could also say that all peanut butter is bad because isolated shipments have been contaminated. Read deeper into that stuff. You'll find that only specific M7s within a certain serial range are susceptible to the camera issues.

Assuming no manufacturing issues, the respective cameras on the M7 and M8 are comparable, if not better than, other phones released around the same time (excluding Nokia, who have had the camera game on lock for some time.)

Pink came back within a week on a new phone months and months after release.

Everyone I know with an m7, which is PLENTY of people, I'm at Usf in Florida, all have the same camera complaint. Countless threads and forums about weak m7 camera. Countless people saying they won't get m8 of its the same camera. And your basis for why the camera is good is because some paid reviewers and Engadget said so after having the phone for a week?

No one said it was better than any flagship phones, just phones in general. I think most people would agree that the M7 had a decent camera; nothing more, nothing less. the M7 was the most returned phone, do you have any type of source for that? Even so, I'd imagine a lot of the returns with the M7 were, again, because of the manufacturing errors and NOT because of the inherent design of the phone itself.

I don't know about anyone else here, but I have used the M7 extensively and can attest that most of the reviews I've seen are accurate. I'm sure your prospective is jaded because of the issues and how HTC has handled them, but the M7 is a great phone with a decent camera...if you can get your hands on one that didn't come from a bad batch.

The camera isn't **** but it's not great.

It gets the job done.

When you guys say bad quality are you guys viewing the images through gallery? Computer? On on instagram or something like that.

I had the pink tint thing about 6 months ago. Went to a store and they gave me a new phone on the spot.

I got a call today from T-Mobile saying I won a LG G3 from their sweepstakes! I'm so amped right now!!! Had my emotions like this when she told me .

Told me it will be a pre production model and I should receive it within a week. I can't sell it or anything until the phone releases statewide. So I'm guessing a release is soon.

I don't even have a M7. I've just used one a bunch, and can definitely say that it is comparable to other phones released at that time. Not only flagship devices, but phones in general (I'm talking between all the Android/WP devices).

Its a decent camera. Decent. Comparable to other devices, but in no way better than the other phones released at that price point.

I love my M7, but I won't lie, I was lied to heavily by reviewers all over and everyone else who bought the phone. "The HTC One has a great camera" The camera is OK but nowhere near iPhone or Galaxy quality. The issue I have the most is the @#$@$@ focus. It focuses only when it wants to. I have to keep closing and reopening the camera app
