I want the G3 but don't wanna get burned come Fall when Android L drops. Might just keep my Nexus too.

Will L not be available for the G3 when it releases?

It will, the question is when? Bootloader still locked for the G3 so I have no idea how easy it will be when L drops to make L based ROMs for this. Never had an LG phone so idk how the dev community is.

The Dev community for the G2 is pretty popular, I thought it was going to be dead as well but its been doing good

Note series is too damb big

This. I was going to hold on and wait for the Note 4 but I don't think I'd be able to use a screen larger than 5.5 inches with one hand.

But I think the Note 4 will have the Snapdragon 805 chip vs the 801 in the G3. I could be wrong.

High chance cause the note series always had good internals. But the lg phones are really compact for their size. It's the same screen size as the note 2 I believe, but should still feel good in your hands and not require you to use two hands all the time. In 2014 these phones are so fast I doubt you'll be able to see that big a difference between a 801 and 805 but maybe I'm trippin

Man I want to pull the trigger in August but I might as well wait. I do not feel comfortable buying a phone knowing that a 5.5 iPhone is a month away. I would hate to regret that.

And also, if I am gonna sign a 2 year contract I am not sure if I trust LG to keep my phone running smooth over that period.

Hmmm.

Pretty much in the same boat.. Waiting on the G3 and i6. Good thing is I'll be able to play with the G3 in stores soon, I pretty much know what I'll get with the new iPhone so I'm not too worried about playing with it.

Are you trying to say that the G3 won't last me two years? 8o :(

^^^ it is highly debatable homie. Well it will last but odds are it won't last how you want it to.

If you are a person that switches phones twice a year it will definitely be fine but I have never seen an Android phone hold well for 2 years (performance wise)

Official support, I doubt it. Dev support, likely.

Gonna wait till Oct/Nov for Nexus 6(?) announcement if any to replace my N4. Also thinking about the 4.7" iPhone.

Yea my GS3 is definitely not as smooth as it was when I first got it and I guess that's expected with the 1gb of ram and the software updates demanding more from the phone. Hopefully the 3gb's of ram on the G3 will be enough to last me two years, either that or I'll have to figure out how to root it but I'm curious how long the battery will last over time with the demanding screen specs it has.

I just don't want to wait for the Nexus 6 at this point, I'm ready for a new phone.

I fell ya.

It is really hard to tell. Because that 1GB of RAM was top of the line 2 years ago just like the G3 is now. That trend will always continue.

I feel like any Android phone is going to be like that though. So wether you get the G3, Note 4, or Nexus 6 odds are you will have the same experience in the long run.

I hope so. If not I'll just buy a used S5 or something after a year.

I been around android very heavily for the past 4 years.

I have seen the movements in software as well as hardware and what works and what dosen't

G3 is going to do very well.

LG did what the people wanted and its going to benefit them greatly.

They do a decent advertising campaign and its lights out.
