I find that turing all animations off help immensely with lag on the devices I have used.

I think the coolest feature on the G3 is having 2 different user profiles set up. 1 for yourself, and 1 for guest mode.

Found this video on display comparisons. Seems like the GS5 seemed to be the best for the majority of them while the oppo is also great but the Lg just isn't that great, making me second guess buying it now.

Wow that's disappointing! What type of GS5 is he testing? I wasn't aware that the GS5 had a quad hd display

Why not just get the unlocked version it's probably around $600, are you getting it cheaper if you get the AT&T version?  I think it should go  to T Moblie since you can bring your phone from another carrier and they give you a sim card for $10.

Try this link see if it helps:

http://www.t-mobile.com/bring-your-own-phone.html

If you are still not sure just call them or go to one of their stores when you have time.

Cause I can get one for 400 off craigslist I saw.
I already have t-mo, so just seeing if I can just throw my sim in it and have all functions functioning properly..ie 4G, etc.

theres a app for that^^^ any android phone can do that
So if I were to get a new phone at the beginning of August, what would you recommend?
M8
I don't notice a purple tint but the camera sucks lol. I'm sure if I tried to mess with settings pics can look better but on plain auto mode it's pretty disappointing
The camera is farrrrrrrr from being suck.. I took this pic below on  auto settings in a moving car with the M8

^ That's a cool shot, but not THAT cool.

I took this with my G3, default settings.

Which one of you G3 owners is a writer at heart? Can we get an NT exclusive review of it? It's very intriguing...have an upgrade coming up in two weeks.

As far as displays go, most "tech savvy" people only go by specs like 1080p, QHD, yadda yadda...but the devil is actually in the details my dudes. As you know all 1080p displays aren't the same and the differences are usually found in the technology not usually mentioned in marketing literature. For instance the S5 is actually %22 brighter than the S4 while not using anymore power than the S4. Also by having the screen closer to the glass it is less reflective. All those are small touches that makes the sum total of the product better.

Up your tech game and start reading sites like Displaymate. Here's a link ( http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_S5_ShootOut_1.htm ) that goes into detail about the technologies behind the S5's display. And yes they review other smartphones though they tend to lag on getting them out in time. In the S5's case Samsung actually sent display mate a pre-production unit to be be reviewed.

This should help

It's a new upgraded GS5 called the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A. It has a Quad HD Display. It's in South Korea for right now

I think I might switch the g3 for the m8. I probably got use to sense

My biggest concern with the M8 is that it came out four months ago and I'm still not sold on the "ultrapixel" tech

A lot of reviews praise the m8 on its design and performance. How is it holding up for the people that have the one

What is all this ART talk and is it available for the G3?

Just copied and pasted from an article online :

ART is yet to become the default setting in Android 4.4.x so here is how
you enable it:
1. Go to settings then ‘About Phone’
2. Tap the ‘Build Number’ repeatedly until you get the announcement you’re
a developer
3. Go back to settings where you will see a new ‘Developer options’ section
4. In Developer options change ‘Select runtime’ to ‘Use ART’

Your phone will reboot and it will take 10 to 20 minutes to convert your
existing app installations to be ART compatible. You’ll see a progress
count during this. Don’t worry, all your app data is safe. Should you wish
to switch back just choose ‘Use Dalvik’ in Developer options. The process
takes about 10 minutes to complete and again no app data will be lost.

For those who do stick with ART pat yourself on the back. You’ve joined an
exclusive club: those enjoying the future of Android.

I just switched my nexus 5 over to art and I agree, does make my apps open quicker.
I can finally do something without having to root =)
