Lolwut?

Apple been copying folks for the longest
glass screen, unibody construction, physical home button. All Apple [emoji]127822[/emoji]. Even I couldn't have been more wrong, on the glass screen thing. Back in the old xda days we mocked the crap out of that. Now I can't imagine a plastic screen phone.

Unibody construction = HTC
Plastic screen phone = Moto Z Force
negative. I had at least 3 of the "latest" phones that ran winmo before the iPhone came out. None of them had a unibody. Don't get me wrong, I've never had nor wanted an iPhone, but I respect what jobs did for the whole genre. Without him, probably be at least 10 years behind now.

Son really acting like Apple didn't totally jack the HTC One M7 and ran with that same design for YEARS after they took it.

All phones up until the og iPhone dropped had removable backs and non capacitive touchscreen. Even though it wasn't aluminum the og iPhone was a unibody design.

Preach to those on the budget phone wave. After this 6plus dies out, probably gonna go with either the cheaper iPhone or a budget ZTE or Huawei.

After all, it's all about apps now, and they all run the same apps.

I would argue a good phone is an excellent investment, you use the thing dozens of times per day

Nothing that depreciates in value over time is an investment to me imo hence its not worth paying premium pricing for.

Paying the premium for a better product is an investment. Just because its monetary value doesn't go up over time doesn't mean it's not an investment.

There are certain things you can cheap out on, but things that get used often (TV, computer, mattress, toothpaste) are worth paying the extra dough.

p.s. people who buy Crest instead of Aquafresh.... :x :x

I use Crest

Maybe if I was using my phone to its full potential but I don't. I call text browse the web and use groupme. Premium pricing is not needed for something that I mostly use to bs.

The same holds true for laptops in my book.

http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_was_supposed_to_build_the_the_google_pixel_phones_but-news-20851.php
Android Police  says that Google already had Huawei in mind  to manufacture the Google Pixelphones that are now being made by HTC. The smartphone blog says it had a conversation with “people familiar with Huawei’s operations” which gave them, and now us, an inside look at what went down behind the scenes between Google and the Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei.

When Google brought Huawei onto the Nexus project to make the Nexus 6P, initially, Google told Huawei that the phone would be sold in all four major carriers. This immediately caught Huawei’s attention, as the company had been looking for the best way to enter the US market. Now, while the Nexus 6P was compatible with all four major US carriers' networks, not one of them actually sold the Nexus 6P.

In addition to the promise of being sold in all four carrier stores across the country, Google also agreed to collaborate with Huawei and spend hundreds of millions of dollars to advertise the Nexus 6P. Google made the first promise with Huawei a bit too early, as its talks with the carriers didn’t make it all the way through. Perhaps carriers didn’t want to bother with another Nexus phone as the Motorola-made Nexus 6  (which did sell through all major US carriers) perhaps didn’t meet carriers’ sales expectations.

Shortly after the launch of the Nexus 5X  and 6P, Huawei was approached again by Google about its plans for the year’s portfolio. Google wanted Huawei to build the Pixel phones, but Google’s condition was that the phones would be Google-branded. At this moment, Huawei was like: ‘um, no’ and immediately ended negotiations with Google. This is where HTC came in and won the bid instead.

Huawei still hasn’t found that entry-point for the US market that it’s looking for, the Honor 8smartphone unfortunately didn’t meet expectations and there are even reports of Huawei laying off most of the Huawei US team just a few weeks after the initial sales for the Honor 8. Ironically, the Pixel phones would have been a great entry-point for Huawei at this point in time. Although the Pixel phones would be Google-branded, it would have given Huawei a better chance of selling phones to US carriers in the near-future as the manufacturer of those smartphones.

The source reports that Huawei’s relationship with Google “remains strong”, with ongoing collaborations that include a previously rumored tablet to be manufactured by Huawei. There are also reports of Google soliciting companies (including Huawei) to build a mid-range device for mid-2017 sadly there’s no other information about the latter.
google dropped the ball, honor 8 coulda been the pixel phone. oh well. Huawei also dropped the ball by not bringing the Huawei P9 and P9+ to the US. Even if it meant putting a sd820 in it, that was the phone to break them into the US market.

Loosing 8-10 percent of battery when in standby with nothing running in the background. Is this normal???
No
I'd put wifi on if its not n ur in range of WiFi. Ur carrier maybe constantly searching for towers. But just a random suggestion not knowing the full situation

I don't have wifi on.took it off the charger last night around 10pm and left it with the screen off and nothing running in the background. I woke up and the phone was at 92 percent. Also it seems with light web surfing the battery goes down as well

How's the service where u live? If your phone is always trying to find a good signal, that will drain your battery
