Gunn admitting his mistake and confirming that Stan Lee isn't a Watcher

The Mistake James Gunn Admits He Left In Guardians Of The Galaxy 2

One thing I found very funny and interesting is the fact that people thought Stan Lee is a Watcher and that all of these cameos are part of him being a Watcher. So, Stan Lee as---probably---a guy who is working for the Watchers was something that I thought was fun for the MCU. And yes, I know I made a mistake. I'll own up to my mistake because Guardians of the Galaxy 2 theoretically happens in 2014 which is before Infinity War. And Stan Lee in the movie says, 'That time I was the Fed Ex guy,' which is what he is in Civil War. I screwed up; I wasn't thinking, But I'm going to say that probably Stan Lee used the guise of a Fed Ex guy more than one time.

can't wait to see how a certain who shall not be named translates this

I agree with his reasoning that Stan Lee could have used the Fed Ex disguise more than once.

Either that or they don't deal with time in a linear fashion.

TT is classic
somehow the movie survived 2 do way too much comedy guys, jack black and ben stiller

ben stiller got couple comedies I like, but usually when he's more toned down.. really need to think of any jack black movies I like, not counting the animated panda ones

If we're ranking Stiller comedies, I'd go:

1. There's Something About Mary

2. Zoolander

3. Tropic Thunder

4. Heartbreak Kid

5. Starsky & Hutch

Don't @ me

Meet the Parents/Fockers is up there for me

Heartbreak Kid is underrated as hell. Can't see TT flying nowadays ,it's also a personal classic though

Don't care too much about Jack Black movies but School of Rock was funny though and that movie with Mos Def was cool

^^Agreed but Wedding Crashers is close for Wilson, though he was clearly outshined by VV in that film

School of Rock is probably Jack Black's only note-worthy film unless you count Shallow Hal and Nacho Libre (which were pretty blah aside from some funny moments here and there)

I honestly never found Wilson that funny unless he's bouncing off someone like Stiller, Farrel, etc. I guess his funniest film would be Zoolander by default, for me.

Vince Vaughn's best performance is still Swingers, I think. He was pretty good in The Break-Up as well

Speaking of Jack Black. Can't believe Emily Blunt had turned down Black Widow to star in a Jack Black movie instead. I wonder if she regrets that lol

Its not necessarily that they turn it down. If she signed the contract and they are already into pre production what kind of reputation would she had to quit a movie cause a another one came up.

Will smith turning down the matrix cause he thought wild wild west would be better is something he regrets.

Your hear all the time people having to say no cause of prior obligations

How much do these people need to be in the movie to count?

Cause I'm going:

1) tropic thunder
2) anchorman
3) wedding crashers
4) cable guy
5) meet the fockers
6) there's something about Mary
7) happy Gilmore

Not a huge fan of stiller or Owen Wilson

Emily Blunt is bae. She can retire knowing she was GOAT in Devil Wears Prada, Edge of Tomorrow, and Sicario.

The worst "I regret not taking the part" was Sean Connery turning down Gandalf in LOTR. Apparently, he took the part in LXG to try and compensate. Little did he know that would end his career as we know it

I mean there are a couple that got super huge.. someone turned down Han Solo, if I remember correctly

Owen Wilson got wedding crashers and his brother got old school

I didn't like Stan lee being a Watcher so that makes me happy

Cool having him just being a part of it.
I mean just like he had other cameos in the other non MCU films. Tradition.

I know the buffoons at Sony and Fox didn't think he would be a watcher

 the crazy thing is me, Master Zik Master Zik and a few others specifically said that the scene wasn't to interpret Stan as a Watcher. What you have to realize though is that the Watchers were in Guardians 2 for no reason other than fan service. The fan service in seeing the Watchers though isn't actually seeing them, it's what it implies. Just like when we saw Thanos, it implied the we would be getting infinity gems and infinity gauntlet. This is when the "tesseract" was still the cosmic cube and not an infinity gem on top of that. Sue, Reed, Ben and Johnny are coming soon. Don't sleep.

Long Range Forecast: Will ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Benefit from the Marvel Bump?
Author Shawn Robbins Published May 12, 2017 Comments 11

The next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe represents this week’s addition to the Long Range Forecast. Spider-Man: Homecoming, slated for release on July 7, is quite unique as the first MCU production to be released completely outside the Disney banner since 2011. Our initial analysis and forecast:

Spider-Man: Homecoming
Sony / Columbia / Marvel Studios

PROS:

Years before the Marvel Cinematic Universe existed, the Spider-Man franchise was putting up record-breaking box office performances at the beginning of the modern era for comic book adaptations. Of course, this is largely attributed to the fact that the character has long been established as one of the most popular and beloved in the entire genre for generations. Sam Raimi’s original trilogy translated that reputation to the tune of more than $1.1 billion in domestic box office grosses across his three films in 2002, 2004, and 2007 — including two (then) record opening weekends for the first and third films.
Tom Holland’s introduction as Peter Parker / Spider-Man in last year’s Captain America: Civil War was widely praised by both fans and critics. Combined with Marvel’s (wise) decision to not retell the character’s specific origin story, Holland’s age-appropriate casting as the high school version of the character could drive strong appeal among teens and young adults.
Initial buzz following the film’s trailers has been very strong. Twitter activity is significantly ahead of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 at the same point before release, while the franchise’s official Facebook page boasts a massive 20.4 million fans (and counting) as of this writing.
A key factor working against the two Amazing Spider-Man films in 2012 and 2014 was an attempt to “Nolan-ize” the franchise — in other words, making it “darker” (for lack of a more accurate essay about what that misnomer of a description really entails) both in storytelling tone and visual atmosphere, ala the Dark Knight trilogy. That strategy worked for Batman because Christopher Nolan’s cerebral approach to the character suited the core storytelling. With Spider-Man, the return to a more light-hearted, coming-of-age superhero drama recalls some of the ingredients that made Raimi’s first two films work on so many levels with a character that isn’t so world-weary.
Bringing in Robert Downey, Jr.’s Tony Stark / Iron Man to help christen the first official Spider-Man movie in the MCU should provide an additional point of interest for adults and older fans. The same can be said — albeit on a more minor level — for Michael Keaton’s casting as the main antagonist.

CONS:

Given that this is technically the sixth Spider-Man film in fifteen years — more importantly, the second “reboot” — some level of audience fatigue toward the character wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect. A strong film with positive reviews could help curb some of that natural downside given the interest surrounding the film taking place within the actual MCU, a missing element lamented by many fans old and young when it came to the two Amazing Spider-Man films.
As the third tentpole comic book film to open within two months’ time, audience demand to return to the genre won’t exactly be at its peak.
This July’s release slate is intriguingly geared toward adult audiences with tentpole films War for the Planet of the Apes and Dunkirk opening in the middle of the month. That means word of mouth and repeat viewings among younger crowds will be particularly important when it comes to Spider-Man‘s long-term success.

I can be fair, sane, and reasonable unlike lame. He wasn't on that Stan Lee is a watcher nonsense. That was other ppl. Never made sense to me and didn't seem to be the intent of the cameo.

He's been on that "I believe in something I can't prove." bull **** with all of his dumbass examples. Even when Feige says there's no plans for the F4 in the MCU currently and Fox deal is what it is.

The man should've got an award for this performance. He became a black man.
Tropic Thunder was funny that one time I watched it. I never saw it again and I don't really feel the need to watch it ever again either
You corny. Get the **** out of here.
