I think it was a combination of things as to why Ja Rule's career is banished. I think 50 came at the right time. Ja Rule was on your local radio stationevery 5 minutes from 1999-2002. People started to dislike him but still listened to his music. But people wanted a reason to not like duke. 50 was the new"hot" thing at the moment and he came at the hottest person in rap at the time. When I say "hottest" person I mean in the sense of sellingrecords. Only Eminem was selling more records than Ja at the time. 50 came at a time when people were tired of hearing Ja Rule but at the same time, stillliked his songs (Mesmerize was #1 on the Billboard and that was in the midst of the beef). Add in the FED case and you've closed the casket. The FEDSseezing all their bank accounts and assets, along with the new guy in town, along with people getting tired of hearing you everyday for 3 years, PLUS, aligningyourself with Em....yeah.

I think Ja said it best. He had the two biggest artists supporting him. One in a positive way (Eminem), and one in a negative way (Ja). He was able to[creatively] use both to blow up. Unfortunately for Ja, White America goes where Em goes. So he went from 4 mill to 500k in a year.

I would like to see Ja comeback only because I'm a huge underdog supporter and the way the fans turned they backs on him as if they never had any of hismp3's on their PC was wild. The sad thing is that Ja doesnt even make bad music but people are so blind by their hatred, they refuse to even give it achance. As Joe Budden said "When you give em somethin and say "Try it"/ They've already got their mind made up not to like it." If youthink Ja is wack, check 6 Feet Underground. If you want something more recent, check "Free" or "Judas."

lol @ someone on NT saying they dont listen to Ja cuz "All he talks about is Murda and Jesus."

My only disagreement with this thread is that Ja Rule was 50 Cent before 50 Cent.

Nah, IMO, if anything, Ja was very similar to DMX. Notice how NEITHER of these dudes are relevant anymore

All jokes aside, even with the singing on the hooks and what not, that just goes to show you how America can be blinded. I like 50's music. WhileCandyshop, Just a Lil Bit, etc. are not in my top 20 favorite 50 songs, he turned them into #1 singles so who can fault him? You can only fault Ja Rule forletting himself become irrelevant. 50 Cent pushed him toward the ledge, Ja Rule just didn't have enough sense to grab on as he was falling. Now thathe's at the bottom, he's trying to climb back up, but it hurts he has a 250 wannabe-Diddy on his back.
