2011's? I couldn't even get 'em at the drop, lol. I ended up getting them for a decent price 2 1/2 years later...OG this, OG that.... here's the first shoe for a lot of y'all
in general, easy to get. Don't forget those were general releases back in the day. There were no special or pe colors. Just$$$. Imagine, the current equivalent would be about $300. Also, had a bunch of air max and Agassi, and bo Jackson's, Robinsons, flight lights, among the pumps and yeah, even LA gear.what was the demand like at the time???
i was too young but from what I've seen, jordans were EXTREMELY popular during those times.
Codename: Kids Next Door reference?
OG Taxi 12's, parents didn't want me to have any problems in school with Jordans. Certain pockets of kids at one point in time were getting beat up and robbed for their Jordans. Clearly not the case these days since they release eleventybillion Jordans in as many colors, but I was held out from getting a pair in a while. It would have been the XI's except when they first dropped, I thought they were too girly because boys normally don't wear patent leather on their shoes. My mind changed way too late on them so I settled for the XII's, which weren't as popular initially. I got Taxi's in January 97 I believe, and they released in November 96. I wanted Olympic 7's years prior (they sat on the shelves too) but my dad pissed me off telling me I had to play D like Jordan to earn a pair. So that was that at that time.
No, I wasn't a kid watching that cartoon to even use that reference.Codename: Kids Next Door reference?

So you know the show used the reference though, right?

WelcomeThis is my first nt post ever. I've been reading the forum daily for about 2 years now, just never pulled the trigger and made an account. Anyway , my first pair of Jordans were the Cool Grey 9s in 2002 ( I think 02' or 01' when they came out ). My brother and I wore them on Christmas with those grey rocawear suits in the picture. I had those shoes up until a few years ago. They got lost in a move.
ThanksWelcome
