when the cops can't even do anything about it?

my sister lost her iPhone, tracked it down... said it was in SOUTH CENTRAL, cops tells her, to file a report but even if she gives them

an address, if the person says no they dont have the phone, they cant do anything about it.

has anyone lost their phone and got it back by tracking their phone???

Take the L and file that insurance claim. Does she have nude photos on there by any chance?

In a perfect world where people don't steal. You would use the GPS if say you left it at a friends or in the backyard, your school locker, or if you were away from home and you can't remember if you left it at home. Having a GPS tracking system on your phone isn't a deterrent.

I've always thought people that steal phones are the dumbest human beings.

98% of people with a cell phone have some kind of password on it which makes the phone useless

They can escort you around to find the, the can't bust in to get the phone unless the gps tracking says it's in that specific house. If it's in an apartment you're screwed

I have a family member that works in law enforcement and according to them their department had situations where they tried to recover an iphone based of the gps location but since the gps isn't 100% accurate, if the people claim not to have the phone then there's nothing they can do. As a result, they no longer attempt to track down phones.
