when someone says, "say hi to so-and-so for me," do you actually do it? vol. I lied

You know how when someone hears you're going to see a friend later on, they always say, "Say hi to them for me"? How often do you actually say, "So-and-so says hi"?
I almost never do it. Should I feel guilty?
