Why did my topic "Finally got my Carnivores!" get locked?

Why did my topic on my Carnivores pick-up get locked?  I was just sharing a pick up I'm really happy about and I thought that was one of the points of this section of NT.  Can someone please explain.

Although I wasn't the one that locked it, I'll tell you why...

"Pickup" type posts belong in the stickied thread at the top of the forum. If we didn't have one official thread showcasing everybody's current pickups, the forum would be flooded with all the "Look at what I just got!!...yay!" posts...
