Why do southern rappers tend to stick together when northern and western rappers beef all day?

Nah ... true story . Southern dudes beef with eachother as of late .. but it was so hard for them to come up during the late 80's / early 90's thatthey bonded I believe . NYC used to have that kind of love back when dudes were trying to HIP HOP on the map itself .. for the community , for that generationin general ..

Southern dudes still got that kind of love .. word

NYC needs to bring back that peace ... word 2 "self destruction"

for piff beats that I made durin the dipset '04-'05 circa ~~~~~>>>>> MYSPACE.COM/DEADFAMOUSBEATPUSHA

Honestly, cats down here beef ALL the time and it has NOTHING to do with being street, it's more of the fact that everything in life is a competition

What usually happens down here (Houston) when 2 sides/people are beefing is someone who isn't involved and doesn't even personally know either sideends up acting in a violent way while the 2 sides beefing do nothing

Example, if Slim Thug's fans find out he's beefing with Cham, there will be "fans" at the next Cham appearance trying to jump Cham or theywill try to steal his car (happened to Slim Thug a gang of times when Slim, AD and Mario were going at it. I've actually witnessed random people in themall trying to jump AD for no reason other than the fact that he was still wearing a Swisha House chain). The only recent time 2 rappers really went at eachother physically was Lil Flip and TI. There was one more incident involving Lil Flip where he was beefing with Lil Flex and it's rumored that he isresponsible for getting Flip shot or shooting Flip himself. Other than that, it never really gets that serious or it's just rumors

If anything, the beefs just don't escalate into big wars like they do on the West and East coast, nor do they get media coverage

And lol at net worth coming into play, are you serious? Based off music and music alone, no rapper in NY is making crazy money other than 50 and Jay

Being independant in the South and being independant in NY are 2 totally different scenarios, in NY, you are looked at as a failure if you are not on a major. In the South, cats purposely turn down contracts because mixtapes sell like albums down here, they aren't for promotional purposes only down here, they areyour livelihood

Egos is what's da matta...most NYC rappers have tasted a level of success on they own...so to put all that aside to collab when most of them think they #%$don't stink (prodigy's rant) is harrrrd....just look at queens bridge alone, tons of rappers.....NO collabs, or not enuff of em...

That's just off the top. I'm sure there is more.

50 is really the high profile instigator in NY. That's his MO. But he's one dude.

Don't make it out to be more than it is.

exactly.
