I was always under the impression that for it to be counted as an assist, the scorer could take one dribble after the pass (or two if the pass is in the backcourt) before scoring. Anyone else learn it that way? I don’t remember where or when I heard that but I believe scorekeeping is subjective.
A couple of the assists feel cheap but from a statistical standpoint, I just want to know if assists have always been counted like that in the W for the sake of comparison year-to-year.
And at the end of the day CC is the best passer in the league already.

I have a little bit of an issue with this statement. I myself was a very very casual WNBA viewer prior to this season. I have paid a lot of attention this year. Based on this post, I am not allowed to give my two cents because I didnt really care that much before? Miss me with that.
You would think that longtime fans of the league would want new viewers and fans. But the way they have been treated by many is that they are not welcome. WNBA is picking up steam and growing yet the new fans are being criticized and judged by the old ones. Its fascinating.

The problem is that they have the platform to benefit off the hot button topics. Essentially just riding waves. If you’re genuinely a new fan great. The gate keeping is weak, I’ll agree there. But I don’t trust anything SAS does and for new commentators to jump on the “everyone must be jealous” makes me question why they are even fans.
