Yep, they counted that non assist as an assist.

It's always been really tenuous whether in the nba or here, and so it's not anything new, but it does highlight how all the stats stuff is necessarily secondary to the eye test. People treat stats like "numbers" and go to the "men lie women lie" line, but the collection of these stats is fraught with nonsense like the above.

I actually wrote a long yelly post on it but deleted it because the game is too big to center every single ******* discussion on one person as if they are the first player to have ever played or excelled at the sport.

Also regarding "when will this thread become that thread"....I hope never.

In discussions of political power there's often the topic of what equality looks like in America. And for a lot of white women that often means just taking over the reigns of dominating and subjugating other people, away from white men. So for this thread, some have expressed the idea that if this thread turns into that thread, that's somehow success.

And just like how other women make it a point to say no, lets do something different, we don't want to replicate the harm and just victimize different people and classes, I say that here. We don't need to do dumb **** like in the NBA thread where everybody gets torn down at the expense of the other players. Where you can't appreciate greatness in whatever form it takes and instead every single post of yours seeks to denigrate any perceived opposition to just benefit your fav as if it's some zero sum game where we cannot simultaneously appreciate Ticha Penicheiro at the same time as A'Ja Wilson and Maya Moore. Where you have to tear down the accomplishments of Diana Taurasi to lift up Rebecca Lobo and giving any credit to Candace Parker means you're not a true Caitlyn Clark fan.

We don't have to go down that path.

Just came to post this. Unsurprising how some fans act toward players, but it's still ridiculous and unacceptable. People need to act like they have some common sense and stop being so in love with a player that you feel the need to denigrate others and threaten them or try to become part of the story. And you know some of these idiots get mad after betting on outcomes and then feel some type of way like the player owes them something. But yeah, racism is a hell of a drug. Especially in Indiana. And I know from personal experience having played basketball in Indiana growing up

Playing with some randos back in the day and we became friends and one of them hits me with something like 'yeah his sisters family, a bunch of them are in the KKK'.

Yeahhhh...that sucked. So a not insignificant number of these CC fans may be literal KKK members.
